I have no favorites as long as I am in Negril with good friends. Have had some great meals and some forgettable ones but the company there makes every meal wonderful from Niah's amazing patties to Jah B's fish surprise( head on, giant teeth)ps tasted excellent. Can't forget Chris' buffet and dinner show at Seastar........ahhhh soon come!
I would like to amend my list. Since Sunset After Dark is only open during high season it gets honorable mention and is replaced on the list by Just Natural. Awesome new location, great food and even better people!
Also receiving honorable mention are Ivan's (although the 100 candles dinner is the most romantic setting ever) and Kuyaba, consistently great food and service every trip for over a decade.
@Ras- I thought about amended my list too. We had a great meal at Seastar (not the Sat. buffet) that was #1 and some how I forgot it. I wish we liked the cliffs because it makes it easier to eat up there. It gets too expensive when you are on the beach and have to take taxi's to the cliffs for dinner. We only do it a few times. Of course, Seastar carries you both ways with a tip for the driver.
@jimbo-Haha I almost commented on your post and then realized you had to be kidding.
Jimbo, you had me worried there for a minute.
Although once upon a time the only place to get a decent burger in Negril was Margaritaville.
Thank goodness there are now many options when you just gotta have one.
Mo, most restaurants on the cliff give you at least one way taxi. Some like Ciao Jamaica give you return. My days are on the beach but dinner is usually always cliffs. Top 3 for food Ivan's, Ciao Jamaica, Kuyaba. There are few restaurants in Negril that I would NOT recommend. Not many cities have that consistency.
How True! I can't forget Miss Millies for the best fresh squeezed Orange Juice and Pee Wee's breakfast.
Sea Star , anything here is ggod, great service.
Canoe , love the shrimp and the vibe here anytime.
LTU , pumpkin soup .
Wild Parrot , for lunch, best on the beach , IMHO.
Ivans, another great place on the cliffs. The view is worth the price. Great food.
Chicken Lavish , always a must for us.
The German Bar , cheap and really good too.
Best in the West , good chicken here.
Too many I know, but we visit then all several times now that we stay longer.
My vote is for:
Ivan's
Rockhouse
Niah's
Ivans, Kuyaba, Country Country
Three dives, my new favorite Pushcart and Sips and Bites...
Murray's West End is the top rated restaurant in Negril on Trip Advisor. I don't think anyone mentioned it here. Anyone have experience eating there?
We haven't tried enough yet - but I have to say Ivan's is my favourite, Country Country is good too. Hoping to try Kuyaba next trip and Sunset After Dark at Christmas, they're always closed when we're there! We did have some fantastic chicken at Best in the West last trip, it was freshly cooked and sooooo good.
The seafood linguini at Kuyaba was one of the best meals I have ever eaten.
Got it dash! Although I have to say that they have never steered me wrong. I use TA in every city I go to and have had the most amazing dinners. The suspicious thing about their #1 rating is there are very few reviews, so probably a little unfair.
"Cuisines: Jamaican
Description: Small family run local jerk restaurant, good prices good food...can't say enough good...Proprietor Lenial Ennis is very pleasant host. "
A reviewer says it's just past Rick's café. I haven't heard of it before.
Are they talking about "Murphy's"?
oh, ya, you're right, Murphy's. Had another look.

I have eaten there twice I think. It was good but not what I would call "the top restaurant in Negril". I enjoyed the setting.
There is something strange about TripAdvisors ranking algorithm. I've seen hotels drop from #12 to #33 overnight. I believe they factor things like TA's "Best Bargain Hotel/Restaurant of 2013" award into the ranking score. So, when 2013 ends and that hotel/restaurant does not win that same award in 2014, their ranking will take a huge hit.
ETA: Some of the best places I've eaten in Negril, are not even on TA - For example, Terry's Restaurant at Home Sweet Home.
PeeWees for breakfast
Bentleys and 3 Dives for dinner
About 20 other places for 4th place
I tried to think of my top 3 restaurants and I couldn't come up with a definite top 3.Every trip it seems favorites aren't as good as I remember and I find new places I love. Instead Im going to go with 3 of my favorite meals: lobster thermidor at Kuyaba, curried conch at Sweet Spice, and Eddies jerk chicken at De Bar. Ok ..also fish tacos at Seagrapes at Swept Away..but Im guessing AI's aren't included int this survey.:)
De Bar best jerk
Ras Roddy's best ital.
3 Dives best lobster
Teddy's Hideaway at Blue Cave Castle, Just Natural, Cosmo's, Hungry Lion. Cosmo's and Hungry for the past 30 years!
Chicken lavish, Ivan's, and the lodge at tensing pen.
I've only ever done lunch at chicken lavish... Does it get a good crowd at night?
Jimbo, You definitely had me for a moment!! LOL
The last place I would eat in Negril would be those 3 places.
About 10 Years ago was catching the sunset at Rick's with some newbies and they INSISTED that we eat at Rick's I begged them to reconsider, but it was on their bucket list. All I can say is after the terrible service and exceptionally long delay (even by Negril standards) for the food to arrive, then we barely ate the food!! Then they had me edit their bucket list!!! LOL
My choices even though it has been a few years:
1) Canoe - great food and vibe
2) LTU Pub - do they serve anything besides chicken lola?? (only kidding) Great view!
3) Ivan's, Seastar and 3 Dives ( all tied for 3rd Place).
Enjoy,
