Though I feel bad for those that made a living renting PWC, it was peaceful swimming and not having the noise and wake disrupting me......just sayin'........could have they made a 'no wake' zone....or would have it just been ignored......

I am in the same boat, lol, its so nice to be on the beach with no PWC,s I could not believe how much quieter it was. I dint realize how many of them were hustling on the beach until they were gone!
I always thought it appalling that the operators would want to rent their PWCs for the same "tourist" going rate as here in FL....upwards of like $100US/hr. What would make someone here a comfortable living must make those operators pretty well off down there....and don't think they couldn't get that much from many folks...these are the same ppl that will pay Carnival cruise lines like $125 a person for a 3 hr beach outing in a port...at the high end AIs....
They got to go! They pollute both the sea and my senses! It's a violation of vacation "peace and quiet". I am pleased with the ban. For those operators and higglers, there will be another income source to be found...How about kayaks...they are quiet and impossible to find to rent on the public beach....
Agreed, I would much rather kayak or paddle board or even canoe. The thrill of a jet ski isn't all that thrilling, at least not to me. The undeniable truth is that tourists swimming off the beach are as vulnerable as whack-a-moles. Over time unless further regulated/enforced, these powered watersports will hurt more people and ruin the water and everything underneath (think what it's done in some places in Mexico where an entire bay covered in gasoline slicks).
