Tizzy I actually thought of you and your Friend from your trip report as I wrote this! I really wish we were going to be there next month too. Don't think I am not concocting schemes and plans in my head. :p

Tizzy- I am going to try my hardest. I don't think my job appreciates all my time off. We just got back from NOLA 2 weeks ago. I would seriously give my left teet to be there!

You're close to the beach, I'm sooo jealous....yeah I'm in ATX, ya'll ever come down here to party? We used to go to Galveston all the time when my kids grandad was living there. Miss that.

Yeah we are pretty close to the beach. I love the beach even though Galveston beaches do not compare to those I have seen traveling. Seeing white sand and clear blue water makes it hard to get in the water in Gtown. I appreciate it for what it is though. I even go to Galveston College to be near the beach even though there are other colleges closer to me.
We usually get a beach house down there every summer. My son enjoys it.
Haven't been to ATX in a while but we like to. We want to move to that area or the hill country. It is so beautiful there. My husband travels all over his region (TX) for work so we have the option.

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your friends and the Villa arrangement. I can totally understand your frustration. On our first trip, I was trying to arrange a group gathering for Negril. Our friend, Jamar and 3 others. They were all so psyched and we talked about it non-stop for months. I looked up all these different accomodations, made all these plans...Then they all cancelled on us one by one.... 4 months before the trip for various reasons, financial, work, family issues... I was really disappointed and started feeling anxious.
It turned out to be an amazing trip after all, we met some great new friends at the hotel and had such a blast.
When is your actual birthday? I'm a fellow Leo too. (August 9th) and I wish I could go to Negril to celebrate my birthday too and hang out with you. The Seagrape Villas look beautiful!
As for your friends, you mentioned they were pulling out for financial reasons, maybe they'll be able to pull the funds together in the upcoming months and you can still do this trip together. Markus and I never book our flight earlier than 8-6 weeks before our trip. (This is because it takes us a long time to save up the funds) It has always worked to our advantage though. There is usually a dip in prices during that time because airlines are trying to fill all their seats. It's the “Sweet spot” - We're scored really cheap tickets this way. You've still got 4 months before the trip, so you never know!
I do hope it all works out for you in the end even if your friends don't get it together, I'm sure you will both have an amazing time and meet lots of awesome people.
Or you can try to do what Marley and Tizzy suggested, grab a last minute flight and party with us in April!! :D

Hi Clarity! I am sure I am only like the 9273974th person to tell you but I LOVE your writing. I really enjoyed reading the trip report from you and Markus.
My birthday is August 7. We will still be there on the 9th and as of now we have room for 4 more... just sayin'. :)
I had heard we could get cheaper tix if we waited later but the extreme planner in me and the fear of not finding a flight scares me to be honest. Most likely I will grit my teeth and we will wait. I worry though if they back out at the last minute and not come up with the funds then we will really be stuck and left with no time to cancel the villa. I really want to be hopeful and I am trying to remain positive that they will get it together. It is just really hard for me to keep quiet when their lack of vacation funds is due to expecting to wait until the last minute to actually save not because they are actually in a financial bind. This never works out for them and they always end up with less than intended. I don't want to upset them or piss them off but now they are affecting OUR trip as well.
I will make you a deal. We find a way to get there in time for Boardie Bash and all of you return in August? *shake hands*
