Lost Beach Resort is one of only two places in over 40 years of travel that I bailed out on. We stayed two of the five days we were scheduled for. We forfeited our payment just to leave and go back to the Westender. We were the only people there. Things were not kept up. The pool was closed for two days. The beach had the worst case of sand fleas I had ever ever experienced. Money had not been put into it likely because it was off the beaten path. People were nice. It was very inexpensive and food was included and the food was GOOD, but it was depressing. We like laid back, we like low key...this was beyond that. It's too bad. It might have once been a cool place, but the vibe was not cool anymore.
Westender is also a great place that is quiet, private, seaside and wonderful....just far enough from town.....for me any way.
Wow lots of responces and ideas we are checking through them all. One thing I did find out Lost Beach Resort is closed and for sale. I emailed them yesterday and got the info.
Guess I am back to square one and have to plan the whole 2 week trip. What an enjoyable chore this will be especially with all the help and advise from all of you. Thanks and keep them coming please. Very helpful.

Half Moon Beach is only a 10 minute ride from Negril. Very quite and semi secluded. They have cabins there, but I'm not sure I would want to stay there. You could stay in Negril and route taxi there any time you want. They also have a little restaurant there, but not sure if it is always open.
A lot o places on the cliffs have deep water. My wife is a poor swimmer....so we bring along an inflatable life vest and she will spend an hour or two just floating around the Blue Cave Castle area. They take up virtually no space in your luggage and can be bought on Amazon for about $40. We take them to Mexico when we float around in the cenotes too..
Regards,
Bob

Many choices for us to look into. Hoping to make this trip our most enjoyable yet. We want to have as many experiences as possible and enjoy the warm ocean water and the beach.
Definately want to check out Half Moon beach. Anyone ever stayed nearby? Any thoughts?
