Like others... my parents, mainly my mom, named me Yvonne to reflect my French heritage. Little did they know then that I really would be the one child who truly looks like the French side of the family. I have nothing to hide & my name isn't very common so I did what I always do... just be myself.
Very cool thread Rinakim ! - I discovered upon my initial trips to Negril (which started in 1978 !) that the majority of Jamaicans I would meet up with could not pronounce my 1st name Chris ! However they could manage Crease and naturally added a Mon to the end of it !
When I was a young "hippie" in the late 60's, early 70's, there was an underground comic written by Gilbert Sheldon called "The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Phineas Freakears was one of the characters, along with Fat Freddy and Freewheelin' Franklin. And a cat that had no name, it was just called Fat Freddy's cat. I also use Freewheelin as a user name in some forums.

Mo,
Boardies fade in and fade out. Some of old timers have posted all they want to post and just lurk on the edges now. Some of us have had several name changes. Others leave for a variety of reasons and don't come back :(
I sometimes struggle remembering which boardie is which with the name changes!!! :)
Mine describes the temperature where we live along the Bay of Fundy in eastern Canada............year round. The odd year we will get a week in the summer where it breaks 80 two or three days straight.
