I never knew El Presidente. Sammy had a noticeable scar across his flattened nose like he was on the wrong end of a machete. Back in the old days he would be riding the donkey sometimes not all the time. He loved the Overproof and would beg a bokkle or money for one. He was a friendly nice guy who as I recall never caused anybody any problems. So not sure if he is El Presidente or not.
Does anybody from the old days remember and or know a guy by the name of Eric Lindsay, a white Canadian guy who was a preacher of the "Good Book" and went by the credo "God's Love". I can't remember where he used to stay but it was on the beach somewhere close to Gloria's Sunset Cottages and I used to drink coffee with him often at Cafe Au Lait on the beach. The last I knew he got married and was living in Ithaca, NY and we stayed in touch until about 10 years ago. He often spent months at a time in Negril and was a very nice and spiritual man. Never heard an unkind word from his mouth. He was in the late 1970's probably in his fifties longish hair, beard and wore glasses to read otherwise they were hanging around his neck.

Hi Lane,
Thanks for the photo. Hard to tell but my guess based on the boots and length of his legs that isn't Sammy. Great picture!!!!
Thanks,
John
