Re: Jumped the cliff at Ricks..............
Is Negril Escape lighthouse higher than Ricks? How many different heights are there to jump from at Negril Escape? Iv'e never jumped from anywhere before but I'm going with my son this year and figured we would do some jumping! My view when it comes to jumping it's just common sense....know your limits and have your wits about you when jumping
Re: Jumped the cliff at Ricks..............
almost every resort on the cliffs has places to jump from...even ricks has several different levels....but the big jump from ricks is prob the highest....i think it is higher than the lighthouse....just like skiiing, there are baby jumps leading up to the big one....xtabi was my 1st jump, from the from the sunning rock...lol...only slightly higher than a diving board...a lot of people on here like jumping at xtabi....

I am a adrenaline type of person. You can always get the high, but if you think out the risk/reward first, it tends to be a little safer. On the other hand, what is life when you always play it safe? :)

Jimmy did you jump? Lacdeloo
Re: Jumped the cliff at Ricks..............
no jumping for me, thanks! I don't have time to waste being bruised up on vaca. The less than optimal emergency services are enough to keep my feet on solid ground.
Re: Jumped the cliff at Ricks..............
To get an A in freshman swim class you had to jump off the 10 meter board at the pool the last day of class. We were told to step off the board and drop off straight down. I did it with no problems, but it sure looked a long way down. The only guy in our class who had long hair and who lived a couple rooms down from me in the dorm, got up there and surprised everyone by doing a one and half off the board. Turns out he was a diver in high school.
I never jumped or dived off the cliffs at Rick's but I did at the cave. First time I threw caution to the winds and did a swan dive and cut the water perfectly vertical and had no problems. I also jumped off several times with no problems. Although I jumped out and away from the cliff, so I had my arms out and waving around to get my balance and just brought them tight to my body right before hitting the water. If you point your toes and tuck your chin and hit the water nice and straight, there is no pain or problem at all.
I am immensely impressed by some of the pictures that Bob (rjonsun) has of himself diving when he was well past the first bloom of youth. You have some a lot of guts.

rjonsun dives from the castle wall... not for the faint of heart.
