One of these days we need to connect, and dance to some good flowing tunes.

Thank you much for your report fellow Taurean! I enjoyed every minute of it! And hope to meet you in our happy place one day soon!😁 I'm also going to check out Nirvana!
loving this !
This is a classic story for the ages! I hope you eventually got your food at Three Dives... We always bring a deck of cards for these long waits (appreciating the journey!).
Hey Hey, Never2many, Thanks for the report and photos.
Some of the places you went to are still on my "to do" list.
Take care, hope to bump into you again.
So we finally got our chicken. I must say, it was totally worth the wait and definitely the best chicken I've had in JA. I have to fess up here. We had an empty soda bottle and I did pour a little jerk sauce it in it, just a few tablespoons, and brought it back to Tennessee. Lord this chicken was good! I don't understand how chicken can taste this good. Just don't get it. It makes my mouth water just looking at this picture.

They had some good tunes playing at 3 Dives just in time for sunset.
Thanks so much for your report and pictures. They are just what I needed today! I know it takes a lot of time to write and one wonders if anyone is reading, liking, following, relating etc....Yes to all of them. Great report!

Excellent trip report, never2many. I appreciated all you wrote about the food, and Nirvana. DH and I are headed back to Negril in June... my 9th trip, his 7th. We are splitting the trip half at Nirvana, half at Xtabi. This'll be the first time we stay at Nirvana, and his first time at Xtabi (I stayed in 2009 on the garden side with sister and friends). And I want to note, the bartenders at Xtabi are all awesome and that is so great whoever it was gave you back your money! I am not surprised to hear it. So we've been staying on the cliffs the past several years but decided it was maybe time to try the beach again. June is very quiet (we were the onl people staying at Citronellas last June) and we're looking forward to it. We have the 2nd floor of the Veranda. Does 2nd floor have an outdoor shower too? Were you on the top or bottom Veranda? I really hope so, I love outdoor showering :) As for 3 Dives, yeah, sometimes you can wait a couple hours for the food. One time it came out in like 10 mins and we almost had a heart attack. I guess it depends on how busy and how ready the food is. No matter where we stay, we always eat at 3 Dives at least twice a trip and the chicken and rice is always amazing. This trip I'd like to try Quality, Sips and Bite, Swordfish. And maybe the Fish and Chips at Alfred's. We always drink there but have never eaten. We usually stay by Catcha and Citronella area. Excited to be back in Xtabi hood to go to all those restaurants. You report and pics are great, I am so psyched to be back there in our home away from home.
I agree JoJo... I've even written reviews on tripadvisor about BB... I've stayed away for over a year and a half now...
Great report 'Never2Many'... was enjoyable to read and has me drooling for my trip in a week!

Ever72- I am pretty sure the veranda suite upstairs also has an outdoor shower, not sure how that is arranged exactly. Sure is a sweet spot. We were on the first floor, open your door and walk on the beach! Enjoy your June trip and do share your adventures!
The sun had not yet totally set. We decided we were going to Ricks. I am not sure why, on past trips, we have avoided going. I grabbed a red stripe light to go and we got a cab -same driver we had used a few days before...this guy kind of scared me, the speed at which he drove and whipped us around the West End. Good thing I had a few drinks first.
Pulling into the lot, I felt like we were at a big tourist spot. There were alot of buses, taxis and security. Note the sign at the entrance: No lobster, or ganja, food or drinks. Oh, and no smoking.

And security telling me, "no, you can't bring that Red Strip light in that you just got at 3 Dives".

So I in general thought Ricks was a great stop. I was impressed by all they have going on. Being in the insurance biz, I wondered how much they pay for insurance, with the location, past flooding, and cliff diving. Wonder why I even think of these things on vacation! One of the guys playing with the band had been playing at Roots the night before. Seems to me that alot of the musicians there play the same Negril circuit. I was hoping to catch some cliff divers but we didn't see any. boo. We did however, see a "Close Talker"- Seinfeld reference here.

Here' some more pictures of our little visit to Ricks.

Thanks for the pics of Rick's. I don't think we've made it there the past few trips.
awesome pics of ricks
We have been to Ricks a couple of times when we stayed at Catcha, nice place to people watch!!
Time to finish up this report!
We headed to Woodstock to catch some more music on our last night in Negril. I think this is awesome spot on beach to hear some tunes- A little more laid back than Roots. You could take a major left turn at Roots, depending on how you want to wrap up the night. I noticed when we walked into Woodstock, they had a buffet set up. We were late and it appeared that it was pretty spent by that time.
I ran into Groove again! I wanted to hear about the trip to Half Moon Bay. It seems like we were all in the same, hungover state of mind that morning so it didn't happen. Where is Half Moon Bay anyway?

After a few dirty bananas and fish sandwiches, We parted ways with Mr. T and walked the sidewalk home to Nirvana and had to deal with the late night drunk packing so we we could enjoy the last few hours tomorrow. We decided we'd meet up with Mr. T for breakfast. I am so happy I finally met a few people from this board!
Day 6
We woke up early to enjoy the last few hours of the water and sun. Mr. T joined us and we headed down the beach in search of a spot for breakfast. We decided on Charlea Inn. I've wanted to have dinner here many times and never did so I am glad we at least tried their breakfast. DH & Mr. T had the Jamaican breakfast and I had an omelette. I never cared for the JA breakfast the times I tried it, but Charlea Inn nailed it and I soon regretted not ordering the same. It was AMAZING!

After breakfast, I walked around the garden at Charlea Inn a bit. They have beautiful grounds and a small pool on the property. After walking around the property, I would totally consider this as an option for a spot to stay on a future trip.

We headed back to our room and cleaned out the refrigerator and cabinets and gave it to Mr. T. I took one final picture of our home that week.

Our driver from Luxurious arrived right on time. I become a big cry baby each time I have to say bye to Mr. T.

The ride to Mobay seemed SO long. Time always goes by quicker on arrival to Negril. We hit a major traffic jam in Mobay due to a car accident. I was glad we had and extra hour or so built in to our schedule or I would have been totally stressing. When we got to the airport, it was jam packed. I was happy we were flying out on SW because some of the other airlines had lines 10x as long.
We did our usual gig at the airport....Went to Margaritaville and ordered lunch and a round of drinks. The bartender totally remembered us from 2 years ago- not sure if it's a good or bad thing that we are that memorable? While waiting on our food, I hightailed it to the shops to pick up a few spices and coffee. In route, I saw a bunch of guys watching Donald Trump give a speech on TV. I felt really fortunate I didn't have to see or hear any news or politics my entire trip and was able to disconnect from social media.
I ran back and enjoyed a nice lunch of coconut shrimp and red stripe light along with a red bull. It was huge portion and pretty good. I love the location of Margaritaville as it is right at the SW departure gates. Attachment 49009
Our flight ended up departing about an hour late- not sure why as the plane was there well in advance. It was another full flight without an empty seat; flying to Houston and then to Nashville. Immigration in Houston took about an hour. I always have bad luck getting through customs. On a prior trip, the K9 dog decided to sit right next to my bags at the Ft. Lauderdale airport and we were pulled aside for a bag search; This time in Houston, they made me break the seal on every spice bottle I had in my carry on and put samples on drug testing strips. So much for being able to keep my spice fresher longer.
Half Moon is about 15 minutes to the North of Negril near Green Island. Great beach there!
Would you stay in Nirvana again? Seems like a nice property there.
