Best pictures of the falls I have seen.
I am still laughing at the word "Supafly." LOL
Good stuff.
By the smiles on your faces I can see another one is hooked.
great pics! One day, I promise to read the story, too!!!
I like how you tell a story!!
How many proposals of "Marriage" did you get Tizz?
I too stayed at Samsara my first trip 4 years ago. I liked it a lot there too.
Excellent trip report and thank for sharing!
Just catching up on this one. Lord took me almost an hour to get through these 9 pages. Great trip report and pics. You gals certainly managed to get all over the place. Looking forward to checking out the horseback riding.
I always get a kick out of the descriptive names men use when trying to hit on you....sometimes it's fun to mess with them to see how good their game really is...for instance..you are walking along and a guy starts walking next to you and says.." I just noticed you and I like you". Really? You like me already? You don't even know me...I could be a psychotic serial killer for all you know. Some will just look at you like..wtf? And others will try and talk you out of being a serial killer...it's great.
Rastagal, I used to love doing that too.....some of them have game, others just have persistence...but nevertheless it is usually amusing and always a good self esteem boost. In Jamaica, every single woman is beautiful! I love that! Because....we are!
My favorite story of a Jamaican man flirting was in MoBay. I was with my DIL walking on the Hip Strip in the middle of the afternoon. I am an older woman and this older, very nice looking Jamaican man came up to us. He asked me if I wanted to go dancing that evening? I told him, teasing, that I wouldn't mind but, my husband probably wouldn't like it. Without missing a beat the fellow asked me, "Do we have to tell him?"
i think there is still more to this trip report - lol - come with it - ha!
Haha...busted. Gotta admit, I lost my mojo for a minute.
No worries, I'm working on it RIGHT now...soon come.
No doubt guys
LOL....Suuuurrrre.....
That's funny....I got a few. Half the time I dont even know what they are saying, LOL, but I put a few words together and I think one guy said something about having a baby  lmao
We did cover some ground, which was awesome, but I kinda wish we hadn't planned so much and taken it easy. Made time fly by too fast...
YES girl...that was my favorite line..."I like you"....and "my friend things you look neat"
My response was the same as you...I usually just laugh "oh yeah? you like me huh?" These jamaican boys...my god ya'll are trip. LOL
DAY 4
Ahhh. The last full day. Damn. Don’t have to describe that feeling for ya’ll do I…
I woke up pretty early, and got my suit on. Got a little bit of a hangover but nothing a cup of coffee and a jump off a cliff won’t cure. Water feels so good. Mornings in Jamaica are awesome and I’m going to be so sad when I leave. Gonna miss these cliffs, the crabs, and the water below, and no matter how deeply I stare into it…I know that no matter how hard I try, when I think of it I’ll never be able to re-capture all of it’s beauty. Guess I’ll just have to come back.

Once again my time in the water on this morning was limited. ‘Twas alright. This is going to be the BEST day. Aside from Thing 1 and Thing 2, there are two things in this world that I love most. Horses and Wata. Today I get to ride horses in the wata!!!! Woop woop. Somebody just try and mess up my day…
After my early morning swim, I head back to the room to make sure that girl is up and getting ready to go. She’s awake…and moving around but moving very slowly. She grew up around horses too so it didn’t take much effort for me to get her all pumped up and on my level. No time to go down for breakfast so we grab a breakfast bar for the road and head up to the front to wait for Garth to come scoop us up. My boy is right on time. I already know my friend aint interested in making conversation with anybody, nor does she “partake” so I don’t think twice about grabbing shotgun. Garth is a real cool, real chilled out dude. The drive was good…same way we went to the Black River but not near as far…I do know we took the road to Sav La Mar, out of Negril.
The place we are going is Country Western Horsebackriding. I haven’t officially spoken with anyone who actually works there. See they have no website. There are a couple of phone numbers out there on the web…but when you call, it just rings…and rings…and rings. Finally I got a number for Garth from *JoeTrinidad*…said he’d take care of us. Big ups. Great guy and I’ll definitely be calling him next time I’m in Negril.

When we arrive, we wander around the place a little bit, until we are greeted by a sweet talkin older man named Wade, he’s a character lol. We’re asked to choose a helmet to wear. My natural urge is to object to wearing this goofy bicycle helmet...but I refrain and follow the rules. Another group arrives. A group of four (two couples) from England. Fun group. We’re introduced to our guide, Rudy, and then to the horses we’ll be riding. I made mention to Rudy that I was hoping to go at a little faster pace. He asks if I know how to ride. Yes mon, been riding my whole life and my friend has too. He say O.K. you go at YOUR pace with a big grin. Sweet! so I give my horse (Rudeboy) a quick sqeeze with my legs…nuthin. I tap him with my heel….he takes a verrrry slow step forward. Ahh jeez.
Trail riding is almost foreign to me. The only time I ridden on trails was on vacation. I rode Arabians competitively for years so I was usually riding in an arena, and Arabians are a pretty hot blooded breed. There was one time I attempted taking my horse on a trail ride, and I assure you it was the last. I ended up riding for my life, that crazy horse got spooked and went flying down the trail. I was dodging tree branches and mesquite the whole way back to the barn. And he didn’t stop, he ran straight into the barn knocking me off and falling over ontop of my little ass. Bet that looked pretty crazy. Anyways…sorry for getting off track but my point is (and yes there’s a point) I’m looking forward to experiencing a nice leisurely trail ride on ‘ol Rudeboy cause he doesn’t look like he’s easily spooked. LOL
My friend and I get going down the trail a little ways and decide to try and get these horses to move somethin. I try the leg squeeze…and the heel jab….finally I take the reins in one hand and swat his ass with the loose ends. HA….go Rudeboy…go Rudeboy. Ok that’s not going to cut it….he is going at a trot (a really fast bumpy ass trot). I give him another little swat with the reins (this does not hurt him, for those out there that don’t know horses have very thick skin)….finally he takes off, and Jimmy follows his lead …I’m telling you its like a game of follow the leader. LOL That’s the thing about trail horses…they follow eachother and they are used to a routine…these horse are clearly used to walking the trail so our little burst of speed was real short-lived. lol
The trail was pretty cool…seems the property covers some good ground and is kindof swampy/marshy/wetland or what have you. There are some mangroves and ponds. Very green and pretty…and it’s hotter than hell. I’m lovin it…but I can’t wait to get to the beach and see if I can get Rudeboy to do anything. Hahahaha

We get a good ways down the trail and decide to turn back and go check on the rest of the group…they seem like a pretty entertaining bunch. When we met up with them, they seem to be having a really good time and Rudy seems like a fun guide. Me and my friend want to go on back up and ride down the beach so we ask Rudy if he’s cool with that. “Yaaa Mon”. So we’re off again.
We take our time stopping to check things out and exploring around a little. Finally we reach the beach. Wade and another guy have beat us there….looks like they took a golf cart or something like a golf cart. They are hanging out under a covered area with picnic tables. We wave to them and head toward the open beach. Once we’re on the sand out in the open, I sense Rudeboy perk up a little bit…suddenly he’s got a little pep. NICE. I barely have to nudge him and he takes off running down the beach (Jimmy right beside him)….Yesss, I knew they had it in ‘em. LOL This is pretty much as good as it gets right here. Nothing in the world like this…I’m tempted not to stop and go back…
When we do make it back, the rest of our group has arrived and are having a drink. I’m real happy to drink some cold wata and have a smoke. We cut up with our new friends from England. One of the couples has just got married, and they all in real good spirits. Walk down to the water and go for a swim. In the meantime Rudy has put waterproof bareback pads on the horses and is taking the other group out into the ocean to let the horses swim. Looks like fun.

Having a great time hanging out and joking around with my homie and Wade, but it’s our turn to take the horses out into the water. I’m super hyped up. I’ve never ridden this far into the water before, it’s incredible. The horses are literally swimming. Rudy was great….he took some really great pics of us with the horses. At one point he tells us to go ‘head and stand up for a picture then dive off. Ok, but these horses are kinda skinny and it’s hard to balance on them out here in the water. LOL We manage to stay up long enough for him to snap a pic then we both dive off to the side. He let us stay out there in the water with them for awhile. This is hands down the best ride I’ve been on while vacationing. There’s a bunch of pics….sorry I know it’s like Baywatch meets Dr.Quinn Medicine Woman. Lol So we’re out there getting pics taken and I must have got stung by at least 5 jellyfish. Don’t know why so many out here off this beach.

Back up at the chillin spot…Rudy climbs a tree and picks a little lime…cuts it in half and rubs the lime where I was stung. It almost instantly stops singing. Pretty cool. At this point we are getting the horses tacked up again and getting ready to head back down the trail. On the way back we rode pretty hard about half the way (horses seemed to move quicker heading back towards “home” LOL)….My legs already feeling sore…ugh ….it’s going to be bad tomorrow, but this is one reason why we planned to ride horses the last full day in Negril. The second stretch we just goofed off and took it real slow. Hung back with the rest of the group who we’ve really developed a liking for. Kinda sad that this is coming to an end, but it was most definitely the highlight of my trip.

Great report. The pics are amazing an obviously so one-of-a-kind that you'll always be able to look back and say "wow." Thanks for the insight, I didn't even know there were stables near Negril....
But poor Rudy had to rub lime on you? Man that guy has a tough life. :p
haven't seen a Jamaican smile that big since my first trip when I hadn't yet figured out the currency and was dishing out change ....
rudy did take some great photos - and that beach looks awesome - the sand is so white
hmmm - didn't know lime worked for stings - learn something new every day
you really covered some ground on your short trip - i usually succumb to sand gravity - lol - i get so lazy i send people to get stuff for me - ha!
Hey Tizzy!! Fantastic pics.. Baywatch.. LOL Bwahahahahah... Rudy is an awesome guide, easy going and let's you do what you like. We love going there, it's like a hidden gem, by far the best place to ride horses, over 900 acres in that property, and one day they'll even finish the guest houses near the picnic area. We'll be there soon with the kidlettes (my thing 1 and thing 2) :) doing the same thing and goofing off on the sandy beach and riding horses in di wata... Cool Runnins mon!!
Lovin the trip report. You are too cute!!
Tizzy - Does it blow your mind to realize almost 9,000 people have read your report ?? Its a great read and I am sure you left more then a few Jamaican men stunned by your looks and fresh attitude. ! Good on you Sister!
I had the same Black River Tour Guide! He was fantastic!
Love your trip report! Love your photos - please tell me what type of camera you have - they are really nice!!!!
Recently realized that I never finished this...
Not much more to add. All that's left is my last afternoon in Negril...and the morning of departure. Thinking I should just post the rest of my pics with a couple comments. Yes that'll be sufficient....
After horsebackriding we grabbed a Juicy Patti and got dropped off at Legends. Spent the afternoon on the beach. Did some strolling and some shopping. Went back to find the old rasta with the carved birds. He and the other nearby vendors praised me for keeping my promise of coming back. You can tell that this means a great deal to them. I respect that.

Thanks Jamaica...see you in April!!!
Nice....
Nice report! We went to the same place for horseback riding on our first trip, also. Our last trip we made it to YS Falls and I loved it. The rope swing was HILARIOUS! My husband went first and he said halfway down he realized it was higher up than he thought lol. My daughter and I did the ziplines...I must be a chicken because I will never do it again!!
Great report! I love when someone gets it... Love the pic of Alfred, that was special!
Fantastic pictures..the one of Alfred really tugged my heart ...Joe and his posse are going to take my group out to the horse ranch when we come back next..and a million other places ..It looks like a lot of fun..and i loved your report ...Im always sad to see them end...always ..
How did I miss this report!? It was a great read, glad you had a good time despite your travel buddy (made that mistake before, love her again but she has to stay stateside!)
You have further confirmed for me that I will be going to YS Falls. I can't do all the jumping and whatnot because Little Guy will be with me but I'm going to enjoy as much as I can of it.
Not sure how I missed this report in Nov but I really enjoyed your perspective...glad to see that you'll be back in Negril soon. I'll be right behind you in May.
