ok I have to wait till I am home to watch this. I started to watch and then the unstoppable tears started and here I am sitting at Starbucks trying to not make a spectacle of myself. This follows right on the heels of a close family member and close friend passing and my heart feels like it is breaking. Thanks Ohliz for putting this together.
Tracy or anyone else that is putting something together, you are welcome to my photo (Alfred pushing my shopping cart at Megamart) and recollection earlier in this thread.
That was truly beautiful! What a wonderful tribute to such a fine man!
Thank you for sharing this video. This is so sad.
Ohhhh so so beautiful!
Alfred was supposed to pick me up next Saturday from the airport, like he had done two times before and the thought of not seeing his smiling face as I exit the airport has me so upset. He was such a kind, genuine caring man with a laugh that I will always remember. He was like a big brother and always made sure he told me exactly how to handle anyone that gave me any troubles. His warm, welcoming and wise words always made my trips so enjoyable. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I will always think of Alfred on my trips to and from negril and will miss him terribly. Rest in peace My friend you have touched so many people there is a special place for you
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Alfred, I am saddened by his untimely and senseless death. It's obvious that he was very well liked and a good family man. I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to Alfred's family and friends, and will pray that those affected the most will have strength in the days ahead, and that justice will be served. May he rest in peace.
We are all very saddened by the news of Alfred's passing....He was such a very nice, loving family man and hard working business man. Our prayers go out to his family and dear friends....RIP Mon....Ja bless.
What a wonderful person....what a tragedy. RIP Alfred
Ohliz I did not know this gentleman, but your tribute was VERY touching. Again , to all of you who are hurting so, I am so sorry. Just going to get a meal....something we have all done thousands of times in our lives......
Wow! RIP Alfred...He was a friend and also a FB friend. I am stunned! God Bless his family!
The video is outstanding, beautifully done. I still just can't believe it, he touched so many lives and will be greatly missed.
What a wonderful and fitting tribute to a wonderful man....thank you Ohliz. The tears are streaming down my face as I watched this. We were so honored to be part of this tribute. My heart goes out to Alfred's family, Tracy, and to the thousands of people that knew and loved him. For me, Jamaica will never be the same.....
When we first went to Jamaica, I picked Alfred based on the comments here. Over the years, we always called Alfred and never looked back. Our son, who is 12 and has not yet been to Jamaica, always has said that is what he wants the most, to go to Jamaica and meet Alfred. Not the beach, not the food, not the sunshine...just Alfred. He has listened to our stories about Alfred since he was 4. My husband and I knew we had to tell him, as we were both upset by his senseless death, and we are taking him to Negril next year. So during dinner, hubby gently tells him that Alfred has passed. My son INSTANTLY burst into tears! He cried for some time and said, now he never wants to go if he can't meet Alfred. "Remember he bought me a Jamaica shirt when I was little, Mom?" Yes, son, that was the kind of man he was. I am certain he will love Negril and all that Jamaica is, but I just wanted to share how Alfred touched the lives of those he hadn't even met yet.

Thanks for that ^^^ - I think Tracy sent me the others posted already.
Just want to clarify, while I made this video and am making a somewhat longer one for the family, it is Tracy who collected the photos, chose the music and generally I only provided technical services. I am honored to be a part of it, and am wishing I had photos myself. I was just too busy having a good time with Alfred to ever stop and record the moments.
oh my Liz...but he is in the wonderful memories you have. And those will never leave your heart.
That was beautiful Oh Liz...
RIP Alfred......senseless once again.
Very nice Tracy... RIP Alfred!
I'm still waiting for somebody to pinch me ..and say it aint so ..a wonderful soul that has touched the lives of many will be sorely missed ..
Update: suspects are in custody but funeral date is not set, still awaiting autopsy...sigh...soon come?!
Tracy, awesome to hear that people are in custody...maybe closure will soon come...Hang in there
Yes, at least they are off the streets :(
Good to hear this news Tracy, I'm sure many here have been wondering. Thank you.
Thanks for the update Tracy. Please keep us posted.
Just can't believe this happened. Alfred was a great guy who will be missed by many
me neither...it is just so wrong...
I did not know Alfred personally,
the loving tribute shows the blessings and joys of his life.
Such tragedy, sadness and pain...yes, so wrong...
May those who knew and love him find peace in their memories and faith...
May we all find peace...
It was always so nice to see him straight out the airport. It will not be the same on this trip in May.
I am still in shock.. We're coming back to Jamaica in November.. We're not staying in Negril this time - but at Runaway Bay - Our first time away from Negril. It seems somehow fitting now, as Alfred won't be there to greet me with a "Hey Kenny Rogers!" - Still praying for his family.. and glad his murderers have been caught..
Me too Bill...it is surreal :(
Farewell my dearest friend...
