You got left too??? lol Where??
The same time you did apparently! At Travellers! lol
AAAAAHAHAHAHA, that's hillarious....just you and Raul? What did ya'll do? lol
Well we were packing up after the group photo and when we looked up everyone was gone (literally it had only been a minute) Everyone was gone except Indy Bob and Cindy, so we first checked the bar (Afterall we were looking for Booger, Sandie, you and Jon so where else would we check) and it was a ghost town. Of course Bob and Cindy found what they were looking for it seemed LMAO! So then we went to check the lobby and no one was there either. How could everyone have left so quickly? So we went outside and Patty, Andy, Dawn, Lisa and Becky were out there waiting on their ride, so we just assumed everyone else was gone. We called Daisy and Markus who had just checked in to Seasplash and asked if they wanted guests, so we got in the van with the Patty gang and after they got dropped off we rode down to Seasplash. When you called me later and said "You left us" I thought you meant all 4 of you and I was like NO! You left US!!!! Then you said you were in the ocean, all of this time I thought you meant all 4 of you! HAHAHAHAHAHA too funny!
HA! Nope. Everbody dispersed like cockaroaches
For real! It was like the only time the turtles moved quickly all week!!!! LOL
This is hilarious!!!!!!
Hey Booger! I just booked a flight...tell Pooper to stock up on Peanut Butter and Beer, I know you have the rest covered!!!
Oh in that case i'm gonna need to postpone the trip lol
NOT!
You got a water hose? I got a GREAT imagination ajajaja
And for the record, I ditched nobody. Tiz and Jon were feeding the fish and Brasi needed someone to take his scooter back. Since Sandie wouldn't ride on one with me it was my only chance to scooter it that week. It was funny too because I picked up his scooter at Seastar and put Sandie on the back down Seastar Lane. We were doing maybe 5 mph max and she was already freaking out. So I dropped her off at Catcha and headed towards Gas's yard. Half way there I was swooped on by a few cars, like it was the Secret Service moving in. It was a quick WTF moment until Brasi poked his head out the window. Gas hopped out and was none too happy about another guy riding Brasi scooter. That was my cool scooter moment for the trip, that is until I saw Jon and Tizzy pulling a Dumb and Dumber moment later in the week. That story soon come.......
Lmao!!!
The chicken bus ride was one of the great highlights of the trip. We had a bus full of awesome people whom we would have the great pleasure of spending an ENTIRE day with. Pickup was around 8 am at Catcha for those who were staying there and than it was off down the West End to pick up a couple more folks at Mi Yard and than down to the beach for even more folks. A few folks dropped out for various reasons but Jim I have to call you out. Brasi was hurting something fierce and made the trek, so you not hopping on because you were hurting is weak sauce. :p So once we picked everyone up it was off to the ATM to load up on some cash and than we made the most important stop of the trip.

That's right, we needed to stock up on beers, and a lot of beer it was. No ice at that stop so we headed to the gas station and grabbed a few bags. FINALLY we set off headed for our adventure for the day.
A lot of us were pretty hung over, so the first half hour or so was pretty subdued. Then low and behold someone got the party started as suddenly the hangovers dissolved for most. The ride there was filled with joy and laughter and eww's and aww's taking in the sights. I remember coming around the bend and seeing Bluefield in all it's glory. You want to see some beautiful water, just take the short trip down to Bluefield. The place is absolutely gorgeous and I look forward to exploring the area some more on a future reach.
We hit YS Falls quicker than I had expected and I couldn't wait to get on the jitney and make it over to the landing area. The rope swing was calling my name and I had to get up there NOW. The place was packed in relation to our last trip as on our last trip there was maybe 10 people there. As I was walking the stairs I was worried the line to the rope swing would be like standing in line for Space Mountain on a hot summer day. But no worries as a lot of folks are chicken and there was virtually no line. Jon spared no expense and went to flipping, flopping and being a kid all over. Just do yourself a favor and remember to bring your water shoes as the rocks there are murder on your bare feet.
I'm not sure how many buses were there but I do know one was a short bus.

Thanks to whomever brought these kids as they were great fun to hang out with.....
After an hour or so everyone seemed to have their fill and it was time to head to Pelican bar with a slight detour just down the street near the turn off to YS for some lunch. It's a rustic set up and the food was amazing. Marley knows the name of the place so please chime in so others can check it out.

Sandie decided at one point that she needed to lie down and get her second wind back. It was non stop party on that bus and I'm surprised we all returned unscathed, well except for a little sea urchin episode that will soon come.....
LMAO....no you didn't! Ha! Short bus!
The place we had lunch is just at the head of the road you turn on to go up to YS Falls...it is called Howie's Cook shop
Great food, great prices!
Ahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahaha, yes, you missed katho and I arguing with a taxi driver on how much for a ride to xtabi, after we had been walking on the beach road for for-ever (felt like forever, but probably only five minutes). and he was the only taxi around, btw. +1 was totally freaked out, lol.
Omg, HAHAHAHAHAHA, funny.
Girl, please forgive me, I did not forget YOU just forgot your name.....I could not forget ya'll. LOL Unfortunately my time hanging with you guys was at the tail end of a 8 day party so I was not on my A-game. You guys were so much fun, hope you are there again next year!!! PM me your f'ing name please!!! LOLOLOL
Ok back on subject
Oops, forgot a little detail from YS.

My previous trip I had only made it as high as the launch pad for the rope swing. This time I saw some of my boardie buddies headed up the stairs to an even higher unknown spot and I had to go. It's a great little spot that puts you closer to the falls and offers up a Kodak moment. It's probably the best stupid section on the property as well.
OK, back to the ride to Black River to catch a boat to Pelican. The ride seemed shorter than last time and I'm sure it was due to the copious amounts of Red Stripes consumed along the way. Before you know it we hit the dock and and it was time to potty. Wait a minute, the potty is locked up. Just as I start my tap dance a lady yells over that you had to pay. I forgot the price, but do remember it seemed like the best bargain of the trip. I ran over and threw her a couple hundred J and as I was tap dancing back I yelled to the group to take care of business and I had already paid. The bathrooms were clean clean clean which was a welcome relief as our previous pit stop at a gas station was the complete opposite. Hey Hubby-Man, you remember the towel?
So we load it up and since we had so many people we had to hop in two boats. Both boats headed out and soon enough you can see it in the distance.....

Last time we were here it was just Sandie and I and our favorite driver Kingsley and we had a blast. This time we had a crew and it was sure to be rocking. We all piled in and soon enough it was time to get in the water. As mentioned previously I had forgotten my water shoes and with the sea urchins in abundance I was worried I would get hit. All I had was my flip flops so I threw them on and figured I would give them a shot. As it turned out they worked great and I ended up leaving unscathed. Unfortunately one of our dear boardies was not so lucky and Sandie had to step in and play nurse, with my pocket knife.

Yep, I had to pull up a seat and watch this. Soon enough all was almost well and the party started back up. Little did I know that a couple was breaking in the area under the Pelican while the surgery was going on.:p Just so you guys know, you were not fooling anybody. LOL.
It's safe to say that everyone had a great time and I look forward to my return to Pelican. I'm sure though that it will not be the same without the crew that we had that day. We all hit numerous bars this reach, but no bar in Negril equals a trip to Pelican. The boat ride back was great fun and involved a full moon or two. Wait a minute? How come the moons out and the sun hasn't set yet??????????
LMAO......oh no you didn't (Why do I feel like I'm going to say that a lot during your report?)
And Daisy is going to kill you for that photo (even though I was the one that took it....sorry Daisy)
They do remain nameless. LOL. Oh, and thanks to you and the other boardies who have shared a few photos with me so I could keep my story straight. Last thing I need is TIZZY calling me out again.
The rest of the day remains a mystery to me. I remember the boat ride back and that is about it. I know we stopped at a bar and I remember some peppered shrimp. And sadly that is about it.
The next day we check out of Catcha, which bummed me out a bit, and headed to the beach to hang out at Country Country for a few nights. I am convinced the West End is the BEST END but knew Jon would want to stay on the beach to check it out, so I set us up to stay there for our last three nights.
Lol.....it's ok, you can check out my trip report for refreshers, ha!
The west end is definitely the best end!!
LOL Booger!!! Oh no you didn't!!
Look at you and Spotty gleefully watching Sandie perform this crude operation without proper surgical equipment... just a SWITCHBLADE!
you're all on the edge of your seats like it's a fantastic scene in a movie!! lol
Sandie really came to the rescue that day
You have an amazing wife
It was a day I will certainly never forget.
(Marley - you bought me an overproof shot for the pain like a caring nurse, so you're off the hook. Booger on the other hand...I'm gonna throw a huge sea urchin at him next time I see him, which might be sooner than he thinks- you've been warned boogs!:D)
It's all good though because we know and they don't
If only I had learned this a long time ago and not tried to "educate"/convince/inform/preach to the world.
It was so great to meet Misti. Probably the biggest disappointment of this trip was not getting the chance to really hang out longer and have a real conversation with you. The bash was so hectic and I was rolling on a train by that point. Makes me happy, though, to know that our paths are nearly certain to cross again. I expected to be impressed by you and you know how often these things were exceeded that week...
I'll combine a couple of cliches in response your wonderfully cryptic post which I have a section of the key to -
Everybody's got their something so go with what you know... :)
Oh yes, it's true, lmao!!
lol, you didn't miss much... That was a "cozy" ride alright!!
It was forever...maybe... I wish I had a picture of us all holding hands alone on that deserted road at 3am...LMAO!!
ok laughing so much nearly in hysterics here--at a Starbucks using wifi and I am convinced everyone thinks I am nuts. The surgery on Clarity with the men looking on with rapt expressions was just wonderfully classic and insane at the same time. So many wonderful and hilarious moments--and somehow between reading everyone's reports and checking all of the photos I am getting some ideas of the glory that went down--but there are still holes and gaps despite all the awesome reportage. But trip report jumping is good stuff. Thanks Booger et al for sharing--wish I wasn't doing the vicarious adventure but it is way better than none at all. And you are great entertainers:) Carry on!
Booger I KNOW I would enjoy the group--I am so there in spirit, fun, mellowness and craziness. Let's hope my future lend itself to that plan.
So bye bye Catcha and hello Country Country. Like I said before I was sad to leave Catcha as this is where home is for us in Negril. However the beach would end up not a complete bust, if that could actually happen anyways. We ended up with a top floor room towards the front of the property near the road. It was my understanding that the premium rooms were closer to the beach, but this proved not to be the case. The room needed some serious love, the bed was freaking rock hard, and well it just wasn't Catcha. Good thing the staff is great and as it would turn out I actually would settle in quite well.
Each morning Sandie would sleep in and I would set sail down the beach taking in all the action. One morning I grew restless and walked all the way down to the produce fair located by the roundabout. It was nice to see Patty and friends hanging out in front of Fun Holiday, and as it would turn out it would be the last time I would see them, well at least until our next reach. Miss all of you guys and the fun you bring to the party. I walked around the perimeter of the produce fair and a local called out to me. I told him I was good and tried to continue my way to the street. Than he pops off that it's ok to talk to the locals and that I should come in and check it out. It's OK to talk to the locals? WTF? Did I really look like I had just hit Negril for the first time? Later funny guy and soon enough I was on the beach road walking back. It was HOT HOT HOT and many times I considered just hoping in a route taxi and taking the easy way back. But this day I was determined to make the walk back and a water stop here and there was all it took. It was nice though as when you are in a taxi you cannot really take it all in. I saw all sorts of little places, bars, food stops, what have you that I had never noticed before. Soon enough I was back at Country Country and Sandie was just setting out to look for me. That woman can sleep the entire day if she wants to. Not me, I can sleep when I get home and when I'm dead.
Rewind a bit back to Thursday as this was Gonjon's bday. This day would turn out to be a killer day and a lot of details are a little sketchy as we partied like it might be his last. I had set up with Vincent that morning to take us on a sunset cruise along the West End so we could take in the sights from the water side. As the time grew closer it appeared that the rain might just wash everything out and cancel our trip. But right about the time he was to pick us up the clouds opened up and allowed some sunshine in. We loaded up and I asked Vincent if he could just drop us off at Canoe instead. Things were a little rocky and I wanted to make sure we could catch the webcast with the steel drums.
Now taking a water taxi is MUCH better than hoping in a route taxi. It is also spendy, but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. It is Gonjon's bday and it was with Vincent and I look forward to doing it again.
Attachment 14633
If you have not spent time with Vincent I highly encourage you too. He loves to laugh and entertain his guest. A little into our journey Gonjon decided he had to drive.
Attachment 14634
The party was in full swing on the boat and soon enough we were pulling up to Canoe.
Attachment 14635
It did rain a little but since Vincent's boat is covered all was good. We made our entrance and only a few boardies were in the house at this time. That would soon change as the party was just getting started.......
Your TR is so easy & so much fun to read! :)
oh my goodness how did I miss this thread until now??? I love it!!! I'm so happy that ya'll got to know Bobo, he is a friend of mine and a really cool guy, and yes, I absolutely love Vincent's tours, I did a snorkeling trip with him, and just loved how he got in the water and showed us everything. :)
Never Gary.... Always Steph! Gotta get my screen name changed! :)
there is no better than eddie in negril!
