Re: Where do you like to eat in Negril?
Dean is the jerk pork guy on the beach…he walks up and down the beach around lunchtime with a big silver box. (we snagged him around Idle Awhile) He usually has spicy and mild versions, sometimes with roasted breadfruit…very good :) Can't remember the price…

Re: Where do you like to eat in Negril?
Dean's pork is awesome, $500 JMD for a small, $1000 for a large. He raises his own pigs.
Favorites on this trip:
Canoe: really great sauces, house Shrimp dish is amazing, as was the snapper special.
LTU: only place to get two visits on this trip, love the snapper stuffed with callaloo and cheese, great atmosphere
Ivan's: Excellent food and atmosphere
Rockhouse: Pushcart not bad, but we walked out of the main restaurant after seeing the menu, didn't seem Jamaican enough for our last meal and very expensive, ended up at LTU instead, very happy.
Corner Bar: Great local food at a cheap price
Sweet Spot: also great cheap local food
Soup place at Yellowbird: many taxi drivers eat here, great, cheap soups, try the fish or red bean.
Rainbow Arch: delicious, slow, order and come back in an hour
Chill Awhile: very disappointed this trip, was told they have a new chef
Alfred's: love the fish and chips
Bigga's in Green Island: best jerk chicken, hit it on the way into Negril
3 Dives: another favorite
Re: Where do you like to eat in Negril?
Every trip is different..... Here are my favorites from Nov/Dec 2013
Best in the West- 1/2 chicken w/rice & peas & cole slaw for $10 (I think the price is up to $12-probably because of all the good reviews)
Kuyaba - Pepper Shrimp and snapper w/ a callaloo sauce (not cheap but was worth 2 visits)
Charela - Pasta, pasta, pasta. Loved it with fish, chicken or veggies. If you stick to pasta it is pretty cheap too. Comes with a salad and good bread. Went 3 or 4x
Alfreds - fish & chips (it has never disappointed)
Re: Where do you like to eat in Negril?
Firefly pancakes, Lena's breakfast,
Annie's BLTs, Tree House pork chops,
Antie's Chill Corner patties & jerk
Ozzie's jerk
Re: Where do you like to eat in Negril?
One of my favourite moments is when after waking up, I realize that I am in Jamaica! And looking over to see if Mrs Dash is awake . Then anticipating The Treehouse breakfast buffet. Omelet or Belgium waffles with ginger syrup, ackee salt fish with callaloo and festivals or just banana bread and fresh fruit. Or one of each! Best breakfast in Negril. Can't wait!
Re: Where do you like to eat in Negril?
Our Favorite is Ivans at Catcha.....Then Kuyaba and Charella........Norma's used to be on the list but I think they are still recovering from the fiasco from a couple years ago.....Hope they got it back to normal.........For breakfast.....Idle Awhile or Sherita's.......

We did not have dinner at CC. Their menu is very limited and they don't have fresh seafood. They did offer to cook seafood for us if we buy it from one of the fishermen, but we never got around to it.
CC is very nice, but it really can't compare to the Owner's Villa at Nirvana. We felt like we were back home when we moved mid trip. Just not the same level of privacy, missed having a full kitchen, beach isn't as nice, but the main thing is the view. Nothing like a view of the ocean unobstructed by buildings.
For someone that wants more of a full service place to stay, with a bar and restaurant, CC is a good choice.

We ate at Sips & Bites a bunch of times the last 2 trips as our hotel is right beside it. They are awesome there! Their food is great. They are closed on Saturdays, I believe. Many locals - hotel workers, taxi drivers - eat there and take out from there.
Da Bar! Connies! Chicken Lavish. Rockhouse and Pushcart (loved Pushcart); Lingah by the Sea (by Negril Beach Club Condos - wonderful food and unique table clothes, believe it or not ...); Seastar; Ivan's at Catcha (many good memories there although next time I will go with GerryG on his scooter BEFORE dinner :) - and there's a great little place right by Moonlight Villas - I think that might be Pee Wee's. So many good places to eat!
I am making a list from this post of new places to try out in Feb. when we go! And as one of our family has already pointed out ... I have never had a bad meal in Negril .... nor a bad drink, I might add!
