I book one way tickets all the time to Jamaica and find better pricing that way vs. a round trip ticket. Been doing this for a couple of years. Plus, you have a lot more options time-wise and I end up with first class tickets as well for not much more than a coach ticket if you factor in luggage fees, etc.
hille141 - thanks for the graphic on airline profit margin. Very enlightening, I didn't know that. Although an article I read said profit was very good last year, they are constantly one accident or terrorism event away from economic disaster. Thanks for the information.
No problem. Most people don't realize how little profits are made in the airline industry as of late. Now you know why the seats get smaller, bags cost $20+ each way, and snacks are $5. With more and more low cost carriers (Jet Blue, Southwest, Airtran, Spirit) the big boys are under a lot of pricing pressure. The Southwest/Airtran merger should be done later this year and that might help people out flying into MBJ.Quote:
