stayed there for the last 6 years.. LOVE the place.. trying Hidden Paradise this reach..be there Monday!!
Thank you so much everyone for all the awesome and helpful advice about Kuyaba!
I really really appreciate it! You guys are amazing! I have so much information now, it really helps us make our decision. :D
It sounds like the honeymoon suite would be the perfect fit for me and Markus! It sounds wonderful! We’ve scratched off the idea of the Rustic cabin, The difference in price isn’t that big. It sounds like it's really worth it.
I also love the idea of having those two birds on the property! I visited Puerto Rico with my mother and we stayed at a hotel that had talking parrots. They said “Hola” and “Que Pasa”. Coolest birds ever! I love hearing their squawks through out the day, I really felt like I was in a tropical paradise. I wouldn’t mind the noise at all. (LOVE those pics of Charlie and Buddy! Thanks!!)
The only downside is that it doesn’t have a pool because I really like being able to take a non-salty dip in water to cool off. It’s not essential though. It’s kind a bummer that you have to pay extra for the fridge, they should just keep one in there and include it in the price up front. But $5 a day isn’t that much. The lack of coffee maker is a small issue because Markus needs coffee the minute he wakes up. Lol – not that big of an issue either though. These are all just small things that you guys brought up.
My biggest concern is the availability issue that was mentioned
Mr. Twister- It took over 10 years before you finally got to stay at the Honeymoon suite! 10 years??!
Maybe I should just put my name on the waiting list and save Kuyaba for my 20th anniversary. lol
Mr Biggz – Have fun in Negril on Monday!
I knew that was coming. lol
Hoho!
Hard to believe huh? I've asked for the room every stay since the late 90's and finally got it....lol. It's reserved a lot and for the price you can see why. I have discovered another Kuyaba room in the mean time that became our regular favorite room for our stays ;-) I think I have been in or stayed in every room in the hotel. They new King Suites are AWESOME!
Clarity, if you go buy one of these. It does not take up much space in the suit case and I love it for when I have to stay at a hotel that has no coffee makers in the room.

I love the Kuyaba grounds. The restaurant is fabulous and the pumpkin soup is to die for! I almost booked there this next vacation but the lack of a pool (yes, petty I know, but...) was a deal-breaker. The husband asks for so little and a pool is one of the things he likes!
We like this model for travel. It brews 15oz into a thermal mug.

Yes, it can take a long time to reserve the room you want.............we got married at Sea Gem/Kuyaba many moons ago....we have always stayed there. Love the family, staff, and everything about the property.....you cannot go wrong staying at this property. I usually place my reservation a year in advance.......
Thanks RR and Prism for the links to the travel coffee makers! those are great and the price is good.
I'm going to order one and see if I can manage to squeeze it into our carry-on bags.
A year in advance?
hmmm... Kuyaba might not work out for us (on this reach anyway).
I'll see what they have available for our dates.
I'm nervous about making a reservation before we have airline tickets though.
but I don't want to wait TOO long. I guess I'll see how it all pans out in the end.
At least now I know that this is a place I definitely want to stay at!
Thank you everyone for your help!!
You will be fine Clarity. There are plenty of great rooms. If you need my help or have any questions send me a PM.
