Re: Enjoyed Negril
Hi Jim and Donna, sounds like a great way to see the Island. As for me i like a challenge, but was wondering how cool it is to rent a car in Kingston and drive to Port
Antonio. The other route seems no problem.
A while ago a lovely lady called Ackeepod wrote about the rules of driveing in J.A. Hilarious. First saw it on Thorn Tree but i am sure she later wrote it on here.
Gotta find the link.
Best Wishes.

Re: Enjoyed Negril
Lovin your report and what and adorable couple...I've only done The north coast drive to pa..the main highway up there is well taken care of-and drive to PA is gorgeous-(lots of twists/turns on narrow roadway) Never did Kingston to PA...but would like to..Would be closer and you could side trip to Blue Mts ,etc ..Really hope its something you think about in the future...and it really makes more sense to drive your own vehicle in that area- things laid out far about...and so many beautiful places to see...

Re: Enjoyed Negril
Thankyou Suzengrace for your kind comments and sound advice. Although longer, the north coast route to P.A. looks more user friendly. For all my bravado i am a bit of a wuss and the concept of driveing out of Kingston, getting lost and takeing the dreaded wrong turns does not appeal.
Through my research a car does seem preferable for getting round P.A and surrounding environs, same goes for the Treasure Beach area.
As i said before it is all a bit of a pipe dream. If i lived in Florida(and my neck was not too red) we would visit J.A much more regularly.
Sorrey about my raggedymouth coments,i do not wish to cause offence, just haveing a bit of a laugh, innit!
Hope you have many more nice travels.

My son is a bit of a traveler too.Travelled India for 6 months on his own when he was 21.Spent a few years back and forth to Holland for the bulb picking.
Came to the Dominican with us,too sad, wife laid out with the tom tits for 9 days.Could not search for souvaneers and travel south.Rich and i cursed to swimming,
drinking beer and playing peenuckle on the dazzling beach of Cabereta.
He so enjoyed Jamaica.Funny storey,he went snorkelling with bread to attract fish but could see none.A guy near him was fiming underwater, showed him all the fish following him,he had not taken the bread out of his pocket.
Had a pass for Rui Club Hotel, checked it out,not our scene, too many children and Eh Up Brits with a pint in each hand.Beach not so good, also heavier hustle.
Last report come Friday
