Re: What ways do you save money for Jamaica
Save coins.... cut back on entertainment and eating out and put that money in a "Jamaica Fund" - a glass jar really lol....
Re: What ways do you save money for Jamaica
Now that I am retired and living on a fixed budget, I have pared down all my expenses and offset some of them with p/t work so that it costs me about the same to live here in So. Fla. as it does in Jamaica (@$700 US per month).
Now I just have to save for the plane fare and the cost to ship a pallet and clear it with Jamaican Customs and I am ready to go.
Peace and Guidance

Wow. Does that 700 Include your rent in South Florida? When I was in school down there, the only rates like that were in Liberty City.

I mentioned I work "P/T" and that is here in So. Florida. It offsets about $700/ mo in rent/utilities each month. It actually costs me less than $700/mo to live in Jamaica but I choose to spend a likkle more each month to upgrade my living conditions there as the house is still under some construction.
All in all, I would say it costs me about $700 each place when everything is deducted from my SocSec check.
And, no, I don't live "like I were in Liberty City" as I live near the Intracoastal on Florida's Gold Coast.

When the one dollar coin was introduced in Canada it had a picture of a Loon (bird) on one side hence the slang term loonie. When the two dollar coin was introduced the term twoonie was a natural fit.
