Re: It's raining Canadians!
I don't know if I'm doing my math right we have about 300,000 Jamaicans in Canada. It seems that the US has about 900,000. Larger number for us when you look at our population of >than 30 million and US 300 million.
Did you know you have 1 million JAs in the USA and JA has only 3 million people total.
Re: It's raining Canadians!
And, when I mentioned the 177,000 Jamaicans in Toronto, our population for the Greater Toronto Area is 4 million .. so we are not that small lol and when they move the snow .. they move it. We are a mini New York :-) only with over 100 cultures .. not sure how many in New York?

Your not nuts lol..... but yr right, many Canadians come to JA, mostly Negril.... and some of us are blessed enough to LIVE here :)

Flip, with your incredible sense of humor and affable personality I do believe you would be warmly accepted as an honorary Canadian... If not, Minnesota will gladly accept you. Could use a little of that Philly feist infused in our youth hockey program...
Re: It's raining Canadians!
This Canadian first went to Negril in 1997 and loved it. Loved it so much we now have a "made in Jamaica" daughter as a result, haha.
We loved everything about Jamaica and Negril, especially the weather (coming from Western Canada eh?!) What intrigued us the most was how friendly the people are and the "One Love" mentality - I wish everyone would adopt that.
Talked endlessly about returning over the years but didn't until last year (after a 15 year absence) and it was still the same. The area was built up more, more hotels and restaurants but the whole atmosphere was the same - that's something you just don't find in any of the other Caribbean islands, believe me.
There are lots of other islands we'd like to see, and we will one day, but for now we'll be returning as many times as the Good Lord allows. It's our paradise.
