Not looking to argue , debate , or anything else , anyone with a brain that regularly checks the board can read "between the lines". I haven't commented on this board but maybe 2 or 3 times in at least 3 or 4 years but do check it when trips are close because I do appreciate Rob's info and trust it. I didn't appreciate the USA comment , I travel to Jamaica and Mexico a few times each year to escape negative USA news. I also know Marko , I know you and I know Rob , and a whole lot of folks know me and Badnaz , YOUR all my friends and would help any of you if needed when ever I'm in town. There's no need to beat anybody up we all want the best for Jamaica , Negril , and each other. We're all stressed right now and everyone needs a little space. I said my peace I'm done with it , you guys know where I stay we'll be there the 1st couple weeks of August , hope to see you. Peace
I stand by my post.....surprised the US was singled out...surprised where it came from because I agree with most of your positions and appreciate the information provided on here.....and the NEW virus spread very fast and believe most people here followed the guidelines given which btw Jamaicans now following. I don’t have a horse in this race and appreciate everyone on here. Not picking a fight with anyone. Bless all.
Well...I don't know how to explain further. As I've already said...the US was only mentioned because that's where the posters' live.
But...I guess you're getting the same feeling I get when Jamaica is being ridiculed.
Stay safe & cya all soon 👍
The simple facts are that the US has NOT done a good job handling this pandemic. The EU is banning incoming visitors who are from the US. WE (the US) are getting very confusing and conflicting information regarding the virus. It is also a fact that some in the US are complaining and posting negative things (not just here on this board) about Jamaica being cautious. I applaud Jamaica for their efforts. I personally am not sure that I feel travel is justified right now, but everyone needs to make their own decisions and I respect that.
WE have a trip planned at the end of September and are simply waiting to see if we are going to go. The way the virus seems to be spreading again/still in the US, it would not surprise me if US tourists will be banned from traveling to other countries.
Let's not forget that we are all in this together...
Cool runnings!
Good to see you on the board Jam!! It's been a while. We are itching to get back to Negril soon. I am retired now but my wife is still working so we will have to see how her schedule goes. She works for the DoD so she is an *essential* employee and has worked since day one of this *pandemic*. I could be wrong, bit I strongly believe that after the elections in Nov., we will not hear about *covid 19* again. I hope so. I am ready for things to get back to *normal*. We love to travel and miss it. Hope you guys are doing well.
With New York and surrounding states announcing a14 day quarantine for people traveling from US hotspots I believe many countries will do the same thing. People in the US just won’t take this seriously. I have talked to so many people that believe it’s another hoax against the President and I just can’t understand it. Are they living under a rock?? Is the whole world in on this hoax?? I think Jamaica has done a great job of keeping the country safe!! If Americans don’t wake up we’ll be locked out of the rest of the world, as we should be. Keep up the good work Jamaica and we’ll see you in November!!
Effective midnight tonight (6/24), travelers from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and Washington State to New York State are subject to 14 day quarantine orders. New Jersey and Connecticut are expected to follow with similar orders, making a 3 state region operating in concert. No, folks, we don't have it under control.
