So happy that Jamaica has weathered this! Thank you Rob & Lisa for keeping us updated.
I've spent the last couple days reading posts, looking at Coco Lapalm webcam - and looking online for a Negril getaway in the next month or so (trip #27). Need to do our part to help support the local economy.

Mother Nature...ya gotta love her unpredictability!
I was talking to a couple yesterday who had arrived on Thursday...they said this is some of the most beautiful weather they've ever experienced in Negril.
This is one of the reasons why Jamaicans seem glib and unprepared or lacking panic about hurricane/storm announcements...they so often just pass on by! But, don't confuse a lack of panic with the inevitable preparation...everyone pulls together.
Prayers sent to Haiti and those still in the track of Hurricane Matthew.

Since arriving the middle of last week, the weather has been about perfect. The little wind is welcome. Glad I left So. Florida so I could make some room for Matthew!

Very happy to hear that Negril was spared from much harm. East end of the island??? On the East Coast in the Northeast we are perhaps going to be effected but way too early to know for sure. Pray for us that the storm moves offshore and misses the US!!!
It won't make it that far north. The Atlantic coast of Florida will get hit, and South Carolina, but then it is supposed to turn east.Quote:
