Roaring river caves Yeh or Neh
As a newcomer to the forum I would like to send a big hello out to everybody!
Looking to book a couple of excursions for my March visit ;)
Has anybody had very recent experiences at roaring river caves?
I have read some uncomplimentary reviews of this tour.
I am traveling with two younger teenagers(11& 15) so I am concerned.
If it was me I can roll with just about anything.
Thanks

it is o.k., i would suggest going to Pelican bar instead, and bring snorkeling gear, soon come

Welcome to the board rellim. It should be called Boring river...well that's maybe a little harsh but as Jamaicarob said it's just "OK", IMO.
I bet the young guys would enjoy Mayfield Falls much more. The name is misleading, it's actually a guided walk upstream in a jungle river. Places to swim and dive along the way and neat cascades to sit under. Very beautiful. Bring water shoes. It's also a scenic mountain drive to reach the river.

I'm gonna chime in ... with a trip to YS Falls
U may combine it with either the Pelican Bar or the Black River gator cruise
Sorry can't give ya ..thumbs up or down on Roaring river
Oh, yes .. sorry ..Welcome on board !!!

Yes we are looking for another outing to combine with Mayfield Falls to make it a full day
Thanks
Its more the cave tour we are interested in as opposed to the "roaring river"
Re: Roaring river caves Yeh or Neh
I found Mayfield by itself was plenty for one day. It's definitely a bit of a workout. The young guys will have plenty of energy. Although some adults could keep up, many would long for a lounger and a red stripe.

I kinda liked the caves at Roaring River. I also liked the tour by the Rasta explaining all of the vegetation and feeding us apples, chocolate pods, coconuts, etc. the reason people may not be too keen on it is that you are asked to buy things quite often up there.

I'm with JamaGinger on Roaring River - combined with Mayfield Falls it makes a good trip for a day/afternoon. I thought the caves were pretty cool and the guided tour very informative.
Re: Roaring river caves Yeh or Neh
Welcome to the board rellim. We have been to roaring river 3 times bringing newbies the last 2. Myself I have found every time was a different experience. I have swam in a couple different locations in the caves which was really cool. There is 1 swimming hole where you can swim through a tunnel. Another part I really enjoyed was there was a band playing in the caves, that was an incredible feeling. I can't even explain how that felt but I had tears running down my face like Niagara Falls.
Something or someone just came over me for reason or another. No guide is the same there if you get a chance check it out.
Cheers
