do you mean timair? if so i did it in feb, it was 140 each
We use international Airlink from Mobay - Negril it was I believe 125 pp one way... Wish we would've used it yesterday back to mbj because the drive seemed like forever and we could've spent more time swimming or something
Thanks -that's exactly the info I was looking for. If you go to their website, they don't give a price - you have to submit a request (it looks like) for a price. I just wanted a ballpark # without submitting an actual request to them.
Everything run smoothly with them?
We have done it a bunch of times on Tim air. I do not do it anymore however. Two reasons.. One, I have picture of me in the cockpit maybe 10 years back, and another from three years back. Turns out we used the same plane... No big deal, but the same labels were pasted in the instrument panel... Again, not really a big deal, but it bothered me for some reason. Second reason is time. Since we started staying on the cliffs, it made no sense time wise for us. By the time we got over to the jumper section of the airport (it used to be a cab ride), got through security a second time, got on the plane, flew to negril and waited for a taxi, it actually took longer than if I had just left the airport with our driver waiting for us.
It is a fun experience however. They fly you out over the sea, and you get to see a bunch of resorts from the birds eye view. If you are big like me however (over 6', and have not missed any meals....) the planes are a pain to get in and out.
@mm..YEs everything went smoothly, they were ready for us as soon as we got off our plane. we used to fly timair but Intl Airlink is about $100 less per person. Here are their posted rates: http://www.intlairlink.net/rates.html
You can also email them: reservation@flyairlink.net We will be using their services again when we return in Dec.
the fastest way to Negril these days is to have a driver waiting for you at the airport....
and they can be found on Negril.com too......for about half the cost of flying
Cool Runnings, Marko
Sorry Marko I don't agree at all, we have done both many times and for us it has worked out better than sitting in a car or bus, I guess it's just preference
I use them (both) every year..Depending on price & schedule. Intl air was $140 in 1/26/14 & took tim air back at $118. 3/7/14..won't do it any other way...did the ride the first couple years..but after my 22nd year....the Island looks great at 1700 ft. & 12mins. to Negril for my money!!
I am curious about the time from landing in MoBay to landing again in Negril. About how long does this take?
I can't speak for Marko but I have read about his travels around Jamaica and I kind of think he and I look at things in a similar way. My vacation or return home starts when the wheels touch the runway in MoBay. Everything after that is all part of the "Jamaica Adventure".
Everyone is different and if it works for you, deanna then that is fine. I am content to take a JUTA bus to Negril and just kick back and enjoy the hustle and bustle of Jamaica. If it costs me an extra $200 plus dollars to save an hour then I personally can't justify it.
That $200 will pay for all my food and drinks for an entire week in Negril.
As you say, "...it's just preference" and that is my preference.
