Big fan of peppa shrimp from the hills, always get some on way to Kingston. Had pushcarts version, not bad but not authentic. They used real shrimp. I prefer the swimps they use inland, plus the incredible burn they have. Any in negril? If not the trip to get em is usually a blast.
Kuyaba has peppa shrimp on their menu. Whether or not they have it in stock is another matter. Much like Pushcart, it is not as authentic as the ones you buy on the side of the road in the little baggies.
The ones at Kuyaba are not spicy hot. Maybe you can ask for them that way. I never had the ones from inland so I can't compare.
Kuyaba is really the only place I know of.
Sometimes you can buy them from a vendor on the beach (I was at Alfred's beach when I bought them). These are the "swimps" and are very spicy and great. You have to keep an eye out because he is not often around - unfortunately.
Thanks, next question would be where is the closest to negri that one could acquire said swimps? We usually got them in Faiths Pen near ochi from that row of food shacks. Is there a place closer?
I remember stopping at a little roadside place on the way to YS Falls but can't remember where...anyone know this place?
