Sea Splash - Anyone been recently
Hey all, just booked some time with our friends at Nirvana, but limited availability (shame on me for booking so late). We need other accommodations our first two nights in Negril and I can use some of my hotels.com points at Sea Splash - has anyone been recently?

We've been on the beach (Treehouse) since Nov 27th and today was the first time I saw a guest on the beach there...not sure what the deal is....
Re: Sea Splash - Anyone been recently
We were there a couple of years ago. The property was great the rooms were great, especially the suites. The bad part was we brought some newbies to Jamaica and the beach sellers at the beach right there were relentless and very forceful and the girl at the bar let them come up to the bar area and harass people up there too, in fact we were threatened at the bar from a seller and she just looked away. We could handle it but the ones with us will not be going back to Negril. I have heard that the owner has been trying to improve things and I did write and tell him about it so it might be better now.

As far as I know, it's business as usual, I've been in touch with them last about 3 weeks ago. We go every year and it's always great. This year will be there with 13 others in February. Its a mystery to me why it's not always packed. I've said before, we find it to be the nicest part of the beach, the prettiest gardens, and the 1 bedroom suites are fabulous. We also eat in the restaurant a LOT while we are there, including many nights having dinner in our room, which they are happy to cook to order (meaning, special things, off menu).
In the off-season they tend to go into slow-mode, and they've had management changes a number of times over the years, but they are always running full-tilt by the time we visit each winter. This year will be our 14th stat at SeaSplash.

Yeah, I like that part of the beach - always looks nice and I hear the beach is coming back. The beach sellers don't bother us - we've been before, unless they are more aggressive than normal? I've read about issues with the security guard, but I guess that's been fixed.

Ate lunch there a few days ago and didn't see a single other person there besides staff?

It was alright, but I just got a fruit plate. Booger got some eggs and bacon etc. I picked off it a little and it was good.

My breakfast was good and there were actually two ladies sunning on the beach while we ate. Outside of that the place was DEAD.

I'm confused, why would it be so slow? Does anyone have any recommendations on a place to stay for four people Saturday and Sunday before we move over to Nirvana?
