Well Covid-19 is seriously hitting home now...

Right now, my youngest daughter now has the virus. She was on the front lines in health care (she's an RN) at our local county hospital in an ICU on the floor where the majority of local caronavirus patients are being treated (she, unfortunately, witnessed the first covid-19 death in our county in her unit). Fortunately, age and statistics are on her side (she's 27) and her symptoms so far are mild and obviously is in quarantine with her husband now. We can dream about future vacations and be disappointed in cancellations but folks, this is some serious sh%t right now (and I can't even see my own sick kid). SO be very careful out there...

I hope she recovers well. My hat is off to all workers in the medical field right now. You are right, this virus is very serious and scary.

We haven't even begun to see the horror yet of people dying in large numbers and for a few months more at least. When the "best case" estimates are somewhere between 100,000 and 240,000 people dying in the US even up to Summer and beyond, how can anyone be thinking Jamaica will be ready for US tourists any time soon?
