Preferred camera??
I have been reading everyone’s trip reports for a while now and absolutely LOVE all the pictures you guys post. My question is, to capture the sunsets and clear water and all the beauty Negril has to offer, what kind of camera are you using? I'm heading to Negril in June, and need a decent camera. I am just looking for a point and shoot. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Even better, if you could post a picture of something you used the camera for. Not looking to spend an arm and a leg, just need something decent.
Thanks in advance everyone :)

any of the Canon Power Shot Cameras.....what you could use is a good OPTICAL zoom on a camera....may shots are just too far away.........

Also look at Nikon S8100 or 8200 as another reasonably small camera with a good optical zoom and better than average sensor for low light conditions. I got mine on Amazon for $204. I would not recommend the cheaper Nikon S4000 as the one I had crapped out everytime I had it in a high humidity envronemnt and then eventually crapped out all the time. Online reviews indicated that my problem was common. Sony, Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic all make nice travel cameras.

Canon & Nikon make amazing DSLR cameras but if you’re looking for an excellent point and shoot I would recommend a Sony Cyber Shot.
Our first digital camera was a Sony Cybershot back in 2000 and that’s all we’ve ever purchased since.
The pictures are just incredible, every time. The steady shot function is amazing, It even takes great snapshots in low lighting. The HD footage is crystal clear. I love the panorama sweep setting.
This is a good one – I received it as a Christmas gift and I can’t wait to take it to Negril in April. It has all these amazing functions yet it’s completely slim, sits easily in the palm of your hand.

$139 – 16.1 Megapixels
Haha, I sound like a Sony saleswoman!
I’m just a fan.
