Please share your nominees for best rum punches in Negril!

27 more sleeps and I'm SO ready to go! The boring details are all set, so now I can get to the important stuff. I plan on conducting a serious investigation of the rum punch world and I need some help planning my itinerary, both for beach walks and cliff runs. Which bars would get your votes in maybe two categories: best quality and overall value (with price in mind)? Or choose other categories...

In return, I promise a careful review, hopefully adding a few candidates of my own, and I'll post photos of each in its natural habitat. Thanks in advance - I have great faith in the collective wisdom of this group.

BTW for anyone who will be there from 12/27 to 1/6, research assistants are most welcome! ;)

I'll be overlapping that time (I'll be there Dec. 21-30) and am happy to be a research assistant! I'd like to hear what everyone thinks, too. I'll be fairly and equally dividing my time between Red Stripes and Rum Punches and plan to visit a few nearby places like Coco, Tony's and White Sands. I'll be on the 27th Pub Crawl so if anyone recommends the rum punch at some of the "normal" pub crawl stops, that'd be very helpful to know, too!

Jamaican rum punch is a difficult thing to judge. Yes there is the first taste but shortly there after taste is not an issue..."I'll have another"

Lots of good ones but Canoe's rum punch the best in the west IMHO!

Captainid- yep, it's kinda like wine. Why buy a $50 bottle of wine, when after the first couple of sips, it really is all about just keeping the wine flowing?

Delcey- I've heard the Canoe rum punch packs a huge wallop! I didn't make it to Canoe last year, but it's on my "agenda" for this year...agenda being a very vague idea of where I want to eat and drink, that is. That's enough planning for me...:)

Don't know if it is the tastiest but like CaptD Patrick at the Treehouse makes a mean Rum Punch

I don't really like rum punch.
Most I can't even drink...too sweet...

BUT... Kirby's 5-rum Punch at the CANOE,
I can't stop drinking and they kick my ass :)

Rob Lisa Pgw and I had some awesome ones at debar. Pgw was behind the bar mixing them up.

Haven't had a real bad one,some a little stronger than others.I really liked Kuyaba and White Sands (especially 2-1 )

Always liked the punch at White Sands, but the most potent I've had was at Roots Bamboo

Just returned last week and tried a bunch of them up and down beach and cliffs. Liked the three I had at No Limit the best. Just my preference. Had many different types and liked those the best. More citrus, less sweet.

Most of the bartenders at Idle Awhile make a strong rum punch.
