I realize this is the Negril forum but the other forums here are pretty quiet. My wife and I are leaving Port Antonio early Saturday morning, but our flight out of MoBay isn't till around 830PM. We hope to find a place to chill for a few hours and take a final swim before dropping off rental car and heading to airport. Needs to be a place where we can keep an eye on the car, and good for safe swimming. Anyone?

I would recommend Priory Beach or Runaway public beach. Priory has a beach bar but not sure if they are cooking food at the moment. On Priory Main St a couple of cook shops and a really good Jerk shop called Donald’s. Runaway beach it is one of the nicest beaches on the North coast and has a good restaurant called Flavors. There are also a lot of cook shops in Runaway Bay. Both are good swimming and have parking.

Fisherman's beach in Ochie --- nice food - Margaritaville is next door
Duncan is another, next to Fisheman's Beach, by Silver Sands Villas. Leroy's Bar is there as well as a few shops. It is a public beach. Around 35 minutes to MoBay.
Tim, I hope you and the miss have a nice trip back from PA and looks like you got to the "right" forum for a "quick" response to your question. Thanks for the excellent trip report in the PA forum that was appreciated by all that visit the country and negril.com forums as a whole country.
I would say get in and out of Mobay as quick as you can.

I have always loved the Chill Out Hut property, just before MoBay from the direction you'll be coming. Great food and drinks, reasonably priced, awesome little beach, never any crowds (unless you're there for an evening event). Plenty of comfy places to sit and sun or catch a nap. If you want quiet, than the Jacob Taylor beach next to Silver Sands is a nice choice, There is a nice beach at Time,n,Place as well, and if Tony is around you will here some of the best stories ever! Myself I like Chill Out Hut in Greenwood its closer to the airport, the beach isn't quite as nice, but real nice bar, good food and real comfortable.
