Re: Negril Palms questions
We booked the Palms for our April trip due to an amazing deal on Expedia ($55 a night). The reviews are definitely not great especially if you are in the rooms that are not renovated. I've never been on the property other than taking a look at the pool area on a walk by. It was very nice and clean looking but there definitely weren't many people around.
Our circumstances have changed now and we need to find a different hotel as we are going to have a 3rd person with us.
I'm curious to see what others have to say though .........
Re: Negril Palms questions
Rinakim - same reason I'm looking at it. I'm trying to talk my other half into a late April - early May trip and the
price seems too good to be true unless the place is not so nice..... If we do go, definitely need to do budget. I would love to be on the cliffs the whole week - nice specials there - but he wants at least half the week on the beach. Hopefully someone can chime in if they have been there.
Re: Negril Palms questions
I looked for next week and its was filled to Capacity and it was $150 for deluxe and $125 for standard.
Re: Negril Palms questions
I walked through the place and checked out the rooms..definately upgrade to the deluxe if you can. The standards were very small and had a glass slider door which I didn't care for.
Re: Negril Palms questions
I heard it was a dump from a few people when I saw the deal on the internet.
Never seen it personally.
Re: Negril Palms questions
I like their bar....does that count?
Re: Negril Palms questions
I heard alot of negative things too but the rooms I saw were not bad at all..
Re: Negril Palms questions
We stayed there last year it was great. Rooms are awesome. I would eat somewhere else though as the bar and stuff is expensive! :)
Re: Negril Palms questions
Thanks Crusher!!! That's what I needed to hear Also thank you to everyone for your thoughts. I did talk to a few people that recently stayed there and wrote reviews and they all gave me a good feeling. I'm looking for a beach spot, we don't spend much time in the room and we also don't really spend much time
at the hotel as we like to go to so many other places! And for the price......I'm going to try it.
Re: Negril Palms questions
Stayed there 2yrs ago was being run by the bank. Lot of work was on going. We had no problem with our room but we don't require much. Only problems we had no safe key and Jamaican style pluming(low pressure and hot water). Beach area small and if the tide comes in it will get smaller. I'm with Crusher the food and drink $$$$ the food we did eat was good. Walk to Sea wind for am coffee or Sea splash. Staff and Security where great .
Re: Negril Palms questions
We stayed there in November. It is not a dump but certainly not anything special. It suited us fine and was a great deal but we will not return cuz there are tons of great deals off season...Never had a drink at the bar because there was never a bartender there, never ate a meal there, i dont believe there was a dinner service at all (remember November was our stay). Ice machine broke down after one day so it was a pain to even get a glass of cold water...no dresser to put my clothes in and had to ask for hangers...the bifold window on the side of our sliding glass door came in handy to pop open and unlock the door when my husband wasnt around with a key and i needed to get in...we had a few laughs over that one but there was a safe inside and security was tight...we were not nervous there at all..beach location fantastic!
