Very hilly, don't even try to walk.
I believe rentals are fairly pricey.
I think if you're going to play more than a couple times it's cheaper to join.
Caddies mandatory.
Couldn't find any prices on there. They wouldn't walk it.. It is vacation golf
They will ask for a lot,,$100 but offer $50 and walk away, they will say yes.
Thanks Fred Stripe. I'll let the guys know.. I'm guesting The Red Stripe and sand will take its hold rather quickly
Went there today to check it out. Here are the prices. 9 holes $28.75, Cart $17.25, Caddie (mandatory) $7.00 per player. 18 holes $57.50, cart $34.40, caddie $7.00 per player. Club rentals from$18.00 to $40.00. Very hilly course.
Thanks for checking it out. Kind of pricy but kind of cool to golf on the island. Not for me of course.. Lol. I'll be busy enjoying island drinks on the beach! The boys can go..
Hi Chris55
If he is bent on some great golf my recommendation would be to get in a round in MoBay on the way in... After fees and rentals the difference in price is well worth it. ( all told expect to spend $175 with tip caddy fees and rentals ) ( estimating I spent about $125 in Negril for what is no where near comparable course-admittedly FEW are) He will come away with a true golf experience having enjoyed some of the worlds best golf. Cinnamon Hill and White Witch are some of the best rounds in terms of experience I have ever had! I am not a golf snob and a confessed hacker , but wouldn't bother with golf in Negril Hills. It is hot,not terribly scenic and the value just isn't there IMO...
MoBay is where it's at if golf is on the agenda. I regretted not staying near the water when I golfed Negril...
I am easily subdued by sand gravity myself with no apologies...
"So Ive got that going for me,which is nice"
Sorry few 40+yr old guys can resist a Caddyshack quote when talking golf...
The course at Tryall is world class, very mature and has hosted several PGA events like the Johnnie Walker Invitational. It is your typical upscale resort course.
Negril Hills is rather new and as it is not part of a upscale residential development like Tryall it is more like a local municipal.
It's very close and you can go on the spur of the moment and that makes it convient.
Depends on the golfer. Negril Hills is probably a harder course due to hard fairways and greens.
Cap
PS. Sorry to go on so but at one time I was a 3 handicap (hate that frickin' game (LOL_)
You will drive right by Tryall on your way to Negril from the airport. Captaind is right on......If the guys go best to get an early tee time and get on the course before the day gets too hot and the wind begins to pick up. Have fun!
Soon come can't come soon enough!
Ditto... White Witch and Cinnamon Hill are the opposite way from the airport.
Tryall from many accounts is equally exquisite and likely comparably priced.
Non golfers will find it a sweet place to cocktail and relax....
You go to Negril Hills for the experience of golf like no other lol . I agree better courses near MoBay. Been 2 times to Negril hills its all about the caddie and having a good time. Took my golf clubs for over 6 trips only played 2 times golf is not on my list in Jamaica. Make sure the caddie didn't put any half subs in your bag .lol
Golfed there maybe ten years ago. Lots of goats roaming around and mongoose fighting in the bush. You spend some bucks but it was tons of fun! The caddies can hook you up with anyting Mon!
Cap you never let me down man, 3 handicap huh ??
Stay thirsty my friend.
Jamb
Thanks for all the tips.. I'll be sure to pass it on. I think they should go for it..avid golfers (albeit not great ones) at home here but Negril does have a lot to offer...me??? I'll be dancing every day..
