We'll be at Negril for the last week of the Winter Olympics staying at the Beachcomer. I'd like to take in some of the hockey, especially if Canada is doing well. Is there a fun gathering spot like a sports bar?

Go to Seastar. Canadian hockey is a way of life there
Thanks for the quick reply we'll check it out.
No place on the beach to watch?
Sportsmax has all the Olympic coverage blocked. Even if you have the CBC channel here, a page comes up that says Sportsmax has bought the rights in Jamaica. Not a big deal though. You just have to find a sports bar on the beach with channel 712 & 713 if they have Flow. The problem being is that now we don't get Canadian content. Coverage will be mostly American. I just had Sportsmax added on to my TV package for 900J.
Olympic hockey will definitely be on at Seastar....Seastar has the SportsMax package...I don't know of any other establishment with the SportsMax channels at this time....
I would think Margaritaville would have hockey....maybe
Maybe Bourbon Beach
As far as we know, Seastar is the only place that has the SportsMax channel package that is the only channel showing the Olympics - I have not heard about Margaritaville or Bourbon Beach or any other place offering the Olympics yet...
The bar on the beach at Sandy Haven has the super max package. Saw some Olympics last night......but pricey drinks
Thanks Sabu!
Thanks! I think the Seastar is a bit of a hike from The Rondel...not a top priority for us to watch anyway
Not Negril, but my ex and I were leaving on a cruise out of MoBay back in 2002. Our flight arrived early, but the ship wasn't leaving until 8:30 or so at night. It was the day of the Canada-US gold medal game. There wasn't a TV to be found on the ship, they suggested we go into MoBay to find a bar showing the game. We found a driver, he was going to take us to what is now Margaritaville but it was flooded due to high waves. To make a long story short, he ended up taking us to Doctors Cave beach (I think) & got them to waive the admission. We sat at the bar, drank a lot of redstripe and watched the game. I'm not a big hockey fan, but I do love gold medal games, and let me tell you it was the BEST. Not just because we won :) but because of the setting, the beach, the breeze blowing in, the cold pitchers of RedStripe and the vibe. I guess all I'm trying to say is nothing beats the vibe of watching a hockey game on the beach!! And, yes, the Jamaicans thought we were all nuts!
Sun Beach, on the main beach between Sandy Haven and Firefly have bought the SportsMax package for the Olymipics! So there is another option.
I'm guessing there would be signs posting game times? Maybe?
I would doubt it.... the Olympics has their own live schedule which is easily googled and SportsMax is controlling what is being broadcast at the time. Several events can be happening at the same time.... it depends on what SportsMax decides to show...
Ah well..if we see it we do...if we don't we don't...
Russia?
