Yes, this is where Kahuna was staying. And this is where his lap top was stolen.
The unfortunate incident has been precisely, accurately and fairly reported by Roland himself and equally fairly elaborated on by Rob.
Hoping to not test your patience, I feel a need of stating 2 more indisputable facts :
1. Jamaican thieves are accomplished, persistent, determined and are testing a presence of security measures constantly, regardless of whether it is a bad", or "good" area of Negril.
2. No security system, or practices are 100% effective, unless all of the available measures are indeed employed. If one, or more are not, the system can not be criticized, or even assessed, because it would be similar to leaving a wallet on a car seat, doors unlocked and arming vehicle's alarm system.The wallet will be gone and we just find out about it sooner.
In a course of last 6 years of owning our property, until now, there has never been a successful attempt of theft at our place, because of the grills, doors and windows remained locked.
We feel, that we have done everything we could, intend to remain vigilant and would like to respectfully recommend the same to everybody else.

Let's give Walter a pass on this one, it's only his first burglary in 6 years. Especially since I personally don't know all the facts and I don't want to be part of the rumor mill!

Well stated Walter and Lidia. Appreciate your note. Even in my small state and town, "tings" can happen anywhere. On a good note, this trip (on the cliffs I might add), I took off my sunglasses while talking to a vendor and some of his local friends. BTW, this was the very FIRST pair of really nice sunglasses that I have ever bought...due to the fact that I am really bad to loose them.

Matter of fact, I almost didn't bring them and then decided that if I didn't use them...then what was the point of buying them.
Anyhow, I ventured on my way and realized about 20 minutes later, that I didn't have them. I knew that they would be history, but I retraced my steps. As soon as I came to his table, he spoke up and said, "Are you looking for these?" I was thrilled and offered to give him something. He declined. However, several times when I walked past later, I brought a cold Red Stripe and said thanks again. There are so many good folks, only to be spoiled by a few.

Thank you so much, Eco. Honestly, what really encouraged me to take this stand, was a compassionate, fair and balanced comment of ackee. It is an honor and privilege to be a member of this Board !

We stayed at the apartment for just over a week (Feb 7-15) and really enjoyed our stay. We were aware of Roland's unfortunate experience but after getting acquainted with the neighbourhood and spending some time on the property, we decided to move to the apartment. We were very comfortable and have booked for a month next year. It's a great location with a fantastic view. We spent many hours relaxing on the patio and getting to know Lidia, Luna and the rest of the crew there. We can't wait to get back.

Thinking about it myself. Just would like to see pictures, and possible map location.
