I saw this on Facebook. Not the most reliable source of info.
As tourists we might say, WHY?
But, I have heard from a few Jamaican dudes, that apparently they like to take dates to the one in Sav or MoBay.
So, maybe Rob knows?

The date part is true, from what I have been told from the Jamaican dudes, and mostly the ladies.
There is a foundation going in back behind beside Corner bar a good sized one. I knew I shoulda took a picture!
Anyway until there is a sign or something who knows?

I'm down for a little KFC. It's practically the same amount of time to drive to the nearest KFC as it is to the Airport for me. I'd just assume go to the one in Jamaica since that's the case.
Most of them all closed up here, and the KFC in Jamaica is way better, so is the Burger King by the way!
I'll look into it some.
I wonder if they'd slaughter the chickens right there in the parking lot :)
The spicy chicken at ja KFC is awesome.
Jamaica KFC, yum yum yum
LOL - Every time there is new construction near the center of Negril, it is always said to be the "new KFC".
The only way to find out for sure would be call KFC Jamaica franchisee or wait until the signs are in place...

When Winner's Plaza was simply being remodelled, it was rumoured to the new KFC, as was the new mall by the Texico, and the Quality Trader building when it was being built and the Burger King and the plaza next to the Burger King...
Asking around Negril, all you will get would be more rumor.... just contact KFC if you are really that curious.
Email sent.
Fingers crossed, JA KFC is so much better
KFC is short for "Keep From Cooking"
Would be nice...
Greetings!
What Rob said is right on :) I live in Sav and they have a KFC - I can say that for sure it's a place where 'dates' happen... I also see a big line up to even get in the door often! Many Jamaicans love KFC - I suppose they have jerk chicken all the time, so it's something new :)
Either way, a KFC in Negril would benefit both the locals and the visitors.
St. Anthony's Kitchen
I actually think the fried chicken at Juici's tastes like KFC.
Yay! And a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons for the Canadians! And a Subway, Domino's Pizza, Taco Bell and a 7 Eleven. Just imagine how all the local vendors and merchants would benefit.
They will all be there eventually, have you been to Mexico lately?
Taco Bell didnt make it on the island, they tried even mobile truck outlets and couldnt make a go of it. When we changed the Winner's KFC rumor to "it is one KFC's sister restaraurants, Taco Bell" the rumor got back to us in about a half hour and the locals werent happy with that choice at all.
Jamaicans are not big coffee drinkers overall, tea is more their thing, there are no Starbucks, Tim Hortons or Dunkin Donuts even in Kingston so there is no chance of them coming to Negril anytime in the foreseeable future. There are also no 7 Elevens, the mini marts at gas stations fill that need.
Kingston does have a Subway and Dominios, and there are few Dominos and Pizza Huts sprinkled around the island - the Pizza Hut in Sav does a pretty good business.
Chipotle in Negril on the water. Heaven.

Hey Rob, what fast food do you miss the most in Negril???
I bet I can answer that one Gerry. He misses White Castle the most. I doubt White Castle would succeed in Jamaica. Too much for too little. Damn, now I'm hungry for sliders:)
I heard that rumor, but since I'm not a fan of KFC, i hope the rumor is false.
Jah knows there's enough good chicken in Negril already!
I can't speak for Rob but I can speak for me. I crave WHITE CASTLES now and then. Even now my buds are tingling. Sliders, as we call them in Cincinnati, are the first thing I eat when I get there! --Fadder Jim
White Castle's over Skyline, Fadder Jim?????
