Would it be possible to walk to Red Dragon from White Sands? Or is that distance not enjoyable?
The walk is fine, might take an hour...or two...or three if you make a few stops along the way for beer and or rum. I say walk it over and taxi it back if you end up tipsy.....
Well no one else is answering you , so no! Punch up map of Negril, I've been told it's up hill past the firehouse and not a nice walk. That having been said by Lisa and Rob, we have always taxied up.
Lol, that is not really a hill, it's a slight incline. If someone can't handle that 5-10 minute walk from the firehouse they have no business eating swine and sucking down beers.....unless they are in a hurry to consume that yummy swine and ice cold beers.
If you like walking, it would be a great walk. Start out from WS along the grassy part, not the road shoulder, and it's 10 mins until you get to the sidewalk. Follow it all the way over the bridge and to the Shell station, another 20-25 minutes.
Then turn up the road to the Red Dragon and hike it up there - 10-15 mins.
There are stops along the way for beers.
And a very cold beer waiting for you at the top of the hill!
Wear sunscreen and hats and enjoy!
Definitely worth the walk!!! Personally, I really enjoy walking...so, I say go for it! So many adventures along the way...and many great ones once you reach.
It's easier to walk down from Red Dragon than walking up to Red Dragon.....meaning, we take a cab to, and walk from....
Yes, walk there and if you can, walk back. Walk everywhere you can, there are experiences at every turn to enjoy.
Depending on fitness, the walk is very doable. However, it's in the heat of the day if you're going for pork before it's gone. Unless, of course, you go early and wait for it to be done.
whats the serving time for the freshest batch/first? Heard 1 pm?
Walk-able but a bit long. If you need to conserve energy get a ride to take you part way, like Shields or Coral Seas Garden and walk from there. There is always something interesting to see, hear and experience! Yesterday near the bridge I saw a goat that had just birthed 2 babies, her owner said they were born about 10 minutes before I passed. A little further along the west end I came upon a small un-tethered horse and her foal, awwww!!
Leaving Red Dragon walk back to town heading toward the roundabout. Check the street vendors and buy some fruits or soup or cake etc. including up by the small market, then have a driver carry you back to White Sands. If you don't have a driver on call you can find charter drivers around the Value Master/Cambio parking lots, or take a route taxi if that is your mode.
Walk run ride or crawl to the Red Dragon. It is worth the trip for some really good pork. I went 2 times last trip. Both times the pork was ready by 12:30 pm.
Don't forget to pick up a Red Dragon T shirt for $15.00 US. Pork is $8.00/lb and beers are like $1.00 somthin.
I walked from whitesands last week no problem. You will love it. Stop at Collets for really cold beer.
We walked from Bar-B- Barn all the way to Red Dragon, stopping at Colletas (LITTLE yellow building ) for a cold Red Stripe. She has very cold beer it was a very friendly little bar to stop at. Once we got to Red Dragon they did not have any jerk pork left!!!! We visited with the managment and had a few more Cold Cold red Stripe! We left turning right out of the Red Dragon and walked all the way back to town ending up by Socia Bank. Nice wallk especially when you are 75 years old!!Ha Ha
