Great idea if it's something you don't need much of. Otherwise, for two of us...that'd be a lot of work. I'd rather spend that time obsessing about our upcoming vacay! ;)
Yes, me too Jenn. I'm so excited I'm starting to feel a little ridiculous.... um no, never mind... LOL
good idea...especially for a day or two, or just to have a supply to tide you over in the event luggage is lost.
I came across this kit available online http://www.easytravelerinc.com/index.aspx It also has limitations, but good idea. I'm marking it for future reference! Have a great trip!
oops... here's a better link: http://www.easytravelerinc.com/carry...53patpend.aspx ...
i dunno, that's just too much work; and now that so many things come already-made in travel sizes it's not really necessary. For anything that doesn't come in travel sizes, empty travel-size (or tiny size) bottles can be had for like 99 cents - so much cheaper and easier, and no need for the expensive kit either.
great idea..but wont hold enough product...esp sunscreen...I'm one of those few who love Jam but DONT want a tan..and yes, i do walk around with big hat and unbrella...lol ome way you can spot me...
Why not just go to a place like target and get the 3oz empty containers in the travel section and fill them up with what you use at home? The 3oz containers are 97 cents each. I do this for Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash, and contact solution. Get some clear tape to seal the lid just in case. Put them all in a ziplock bag. You can reuse them on for future trips.
I use the Glad Press 'n Seal under the lid. Remove lid, put a small piece of press n seal over the top, put lid back on...no leaking. :)
great ideas, yes refillables are the best way to go for sure, love the press n seal idea. I just tape down everything that could leak.
Anyone else think the TSA might have some questions if you bring through a dozen straws filled with an unknown liquid?
We usually put all the liquids in our checked bag. If the original bottle is too big, buy a travel size or get a small empty bottle and fill it. I like the idea of the Cling Wrap over the top of the bottle.
I usually buy clear travel size containers and fill them. They are like 3 for $1. Dollar tree has them as well.
Yes they might do  I can't see myself doing it, especially not for a long trip but pretty smart none the less. I will start saving small travel size containers and stock up on refillables at the dollar store. I always bring too many toiletries, much less packed this trip
I use reusable travel containers too but never thought of Press N Seal - brilliant!
Thanks guys! I don't know where I came across that...wish I could claim that I was smart enough to come up with it myself! I like the press and seal better than the cling wrap because it seals and the cling doesn't. I used to tape, but sometimes it left a sticky residue all over the bottle cap. Add sand and I had a mess.
Best travel bottles I ever used were the Sutter Home wine bottles for single serving. Strong and light. And the drinking wasn't bad also.
Part of the fun is buying local sundry products. I usually mix and match -- bring some stuff, plus sample some of the stuff in the stores.
Also, I am a big fan of sunscreen spray, the sport style. I am very diligent with that stuff. Also lots of chapsticks, like twenty of 'em.
