Good morning my fellow boardies. I'm sitting at the airport waiting not so patiently to board my plane. 6am wake up (ouch) but a sacrifice I'm willing to gladly take lol.
Yesterday I got my mani/pedi done Window seat all picked out, only 2 seats across ...all good stuff! My driver in Negril called yesterday to confirm pick up n will be providing me with my cell phone. So stay tuned....she's off!!!!!

Hey Everybody, just a quick check in. Transport was great by Luxurious Max my driver was very polite and drove like I was precious cargo. Checked in was fine at the hotel as always.
I went to Alfreds for fish and chips and really was looking forward to it. I was very disappointed it was very greasy and when I lifted up the fish there was actually puddles of grease. New chef? I couldn't eat it and probably will not try it again.
Then went to maureens for a dirty banana or two? LOL It rained that night but under the canopy who cares... all Irie!! Met some an awesome Swedish couple and the lady and I shared the same name, very lovely couple.
Travelling solo this trip so have quite a few men who want to be "my friend" my "special friend" and more :rolleyes: me tell them all me alright
Lounged on the beach and swam a lot yesterday..went on the pub crawl which was a lot of fun. Very impressed with Xtabi, was a spectacular place and the views and those cliffs...yes very impressed. The bus was rocking on the way back everybody singing away and in good spirits.
I unfortunately took in a little bit too much sun yesterday so getting some fresh aloe which should fix me right up. I'm on the beach with hot skin and freezing (shivering) . That greasy fish still bothering me ...the bad :-(
Anyway, will check in later, a dirty banana from Maureens is calling my name

Glad you are there, safe, and having fun Bluez... I have been told but never smart enough to adhere, that the best time to apply aloe is BEFORE getting in the sun. Going to try and take my own advice next week. The sun doesn't love me the same way I love it.

Down to almost single hours until we arrive! I'm out of my mind...can't sleep....have packed and repacked a million times. SOOOO ready for this!

Sun fever. You MUST be diligent with sun block and choose your spots carefully about being in direct sunlight -- especially your first few days.

The next day I lounged on the beach, swam and awaited my favorite vendors to come along. Miss Millie with her fruits, the patty guy, waited for Dean and his jerk pork (but didnt see him until a few days later). More dirty bananas from Maureens which now is my local. Had an aloe vera massage in my seat at the bar enjoying my drink making sure the girls were covered...LOL
Later that night ordered in jerk pizza from Chances. It was ok but not as good as I remembered it to be.
The next day walked to Cafe Goa for breakfast had bacon and eggs with coffee. Very nice. Then on to Times square get some JA money look around and chill. Still wasn't feeling 100% so rested in my room.
My friend Jenn and her husband were arriving n met them later for drinks at Maureens. Awesome couple!! Was great to meet them. Can't wait to read her report ...spoiler alert...she becomes buddies with POWER STRAP ....HAHAHAHA
Went to Sweet Spot for dinner, had the fried chicken rice n peas.
Saturday morning I got up bright and early and went to Sweet spot for Ackee and saltfish, plantain, boiled dumplings, fried dumplings and yam quite a lot of food for $450 JA and very good.... no way I could eat it all.

Later that afternoon I went for a fish sandwich.... hmmmmm. My one and only time I got ripped off. There were 4 small pieces of fish a little bigger than the size of your thumb nail for $700 JA. A few days later when I saw the guy he said I looked vex at him.... I said yes I was. I pointed to his sign and said see where it says fish sandwich? Well.... it's a good idea to actually have some fish in the fish sandwich you sell...and that I will tell everybody not to go there... SO, don't go the the place to the right of rooms (first food place) at the back :mad:
I was swimming and went over to Maureens for a dirty banana and who do I see??? Rob and Lisa :) It was so nice to finally meet them, they truly are an awesome couple. Somebody there said I look like Rob and then when I said goodbye he said bye sis LOL.
Later that evening I decided to try out Swordfish... I tried the Lobster macaroni and cheese.. it's to die for.... Soooooo good !!!! I can see why it gets such great reviews... it's a great spot, you can watch the fish, the pelicans diving for their dinner, the waitresses are really fantastic.

What a cute little place it is. A green bamboo fence around the place and red Xmas lights at night. Hamburger, cheese burger, jerk burger, fish burgers....really nice waitress there, good fast service. Give this place a try.

One of the highlights of my trip was going on the snorkelling lobster lunch with Lobster (Captain Moses son). On the way out to the reef we saw lots of starfish (which I just love). Those who wanted life jackets were given them and they tied them around your waist. So if you're not a strong swimmer this is still something you can definately do. We snorkelled on the reef and saw the huge anchor and the cannon, I saw a big sea horse (which was one of the things I wanted to see) as well as a string ray. This was the 2nd sting ray I saw, the first one swam by very close to shore while swimming one day. That was cool to see. All the boats park for a few mins on the reef, Captain Papa (who drove us out there) said it was his personal Discovery channel, lol. All of the boats except another boat driven by Captain Kirk. He remained parked on the reef and they are not supposed to do this. Lobster yelled at him telling Kirk he knows they are not supposed to do this at it kills the reef, but Kirk did not move his boat and ignored Lobster telling him off.... Captain Kirk sure seems like a jerk, he should know better and obviously doesn't care.
Anyway, we had a guide who got in the water with us and pointed things out to us. I can't remember his name but he would swim down and pick up a conch and hand it around.. really wish I had an underwater camera to take pics, its incredible down there with the pretty coloured fish....just loved it.
After swimming we went to Booby Cay island and Captain Moses was there making a delicious lunch of a whole lobster with rice and peas and veg, with garlic butter it was fabulous!! Lots of rum punch, soda or red stripe....I really enjoyed that, what a fun day. Great fun for $50 you can't beat that, you pay for everything ahead of time. I understand that they used to have you buy your lobster and drinks on the island so this is much better. I highly recommend this

Did you know that there's a guy who looks exactly like Snoop Dog? Well, yes there is... wish I had my phone to take a picture of him, LOL. He was telling me they all call him Snoop Dog and I said don't you mean Snoop LION? Well he laughed and laughed at that one.
That evening I went to Canoe for dinner and had the Lionfish and chips with a Ceasar...excellent!! Everybody said the Lionfish was delicious and they were right. Took home a piece of Key Lime pie cheesecake to eat later.
When I had driven past Canoe I wondered what all the fuss was about cause from the outside it looks like a trailer. Well it's just the cutest place. The way the couches are set up its so cozy, comfortable and cute and will def come back here again to hang out. I'm really sorry that I missed the steel drums and all of the webcasts for that matter. I had great intentions but ... sand gravity hits again :o
