Any local taxis charge by the ride not by the person?

13 days and we'll be in Negril! We want to get out and about more this trip, especially for dinner.

BUT I really have a problem with paying $40 roundtrip for a ride to the cliffs for 4 people when the same vehicle, driver, etc is only $20 when there are 2 of us. Does anyone know of a reliable, safe driver that just charges a flat fee for the ride, regardless of the number of passengers? I know I can do that "at the road", but I really would prefer having someone I could call and no one seems to want to disclose their pricing or they want $10 PP. And, in case you can't tell, I am NOT a good negotiator. I'm much happier when I can get a good, fair rate up front.

Well for starters, many restaurants on the cliffs will bring you up there for free if you are having dinner. Most expect you to pay your way home.

Thanks ohliz, I'm aware of that. Still need someone to call to get us back to the beach or will they drive you back for a reasonable fee?

They'll call the driver that took you and you pay him, but no clue how much.

You might try emailing some of the drivers mentioned here to see if you can arrange something with them ahead of time. I believe a lot of drivers will be glad to take a car load for $20, not $40, but you may have to ask around. By email would be easiest.

Some offer round trip transport for free, maybe Seastar?

If Manny can carry you for 5 US that's a deal Assuming he's a PPV I can't compete with.

Hey Captain...is Liston's price beach to cliff $20 for just two people? We miss some good places because we don't want to spend $40 just to get there and back for the 2 of us. If I knew he was reasonable we'd go out more and use him all week.

$10 each way for two is plenty. If on the beach I usually grab a van as they are typically charter. Nighttime rates are higher simply due to supply and demand.

Manny is same price, day or night. The locals know about him and use him, but if you're friends with Marko or gerryg123, you're golden.
