Some of the bests :) and worsts :( from this trip

Participants this trip - 5 repeat visitors, 1 who was in Negril 20 years ago, and 2 Jamaica newbies. We all loved the trip and the newbies may never be able to stay AI again after enjoying this vacation

Bests:

2 all day tours with Captain Dennis in Treasure Beach - the Black River and Pelican Bar Tour, also the Trip to the Fish Sanctuary Beach with Shore Lunch. We saw dolphins both trips!

Treasure Beach stay at Brytan Villa near Jack Sprat's -- even with electricity and water outages.

Blackwell Rum

Country, Country staff, rooms, and new pool

Music provided by Otis Gayle at Boat Bar

Juicy Restaurant at the old Pilots Café - amazing food, huge selection, and decent prices

One Love Tour with Lenton who dropped us off at our requested location on the cliffs

Marshalls Step Aside Chicken - always good

Cucumber and ginger juice from Tony on the beach

Friday night our group of 8 walked the beach from Travelers all the way to SeaSplash without any issues.

Continued improvement at Sunnyside Bar and Myrna's store. Umbrellas and tables are great under the sun or when raining.


Worsts:

Horrible microwaved dinner at Fatties where we got about 4-5 dinners served as 8 and charged full price (I have eaten here every trip for years so know what to expect) We did negotiate a lower price but this experience was really bad!

Route driver who picked up 4 of us, drove 1/2 of the beach route, then demanded $1000 for the ride. We knew better, paid route rate, but he made a big fuss about it.

Beach 'salesman' who would not leave us alone after several 'NO thank you's'. My companion said 'come on, we are talking here'. Higgler muttered 'yeah, to your mother'. Obviously meant to insult and start trouble. It was offensive - we brushed it off but not everyone would be able to.

Niah had a full meltdown rant one afternoon - he was angry at his sister over patty prep. He carried on for over 1/2 an hour and scared away at least 6 potential customers.

Niah....lol....Man that dude CAN GO OFF!! I have also seen it. I have no clue what he was going on about. I just stood there eating my pattie and watched...

Brytan villa looks cool. I must have passed it many times last year but don't recall it.

So when you break an A/I person into a non A/I hotel,,is it like when the cowboys rope the Bucking horse until they calm down and say,,,,

Hey,,this aint so bad ?

I have to say our last visit to FATTIES was disappointing!........................FATTIE in Canada!...............................Oh well.

@Fred ... our newbies were easy to tame! on day one they were already loving their non AI trip.

Fattie's is NOT Fattie's when she is not there. Last friend/cousin she had cover for her was nice but not always reliable for breakfast, when I go. My Jan-Feb trip Sally was there covering for her. Sally wanted to charge me double what Fattie does for my regular ackee & saltfish breakfast for a smaller container. I pointed it out to her & she told me I was wrong. Really???!!!??? I never went back. Fish Hut for me in the a.m. for ackee & saltfish until Fattie is back again.

Sally was in charge at Fatties when we stopped too. Does anyone know Fattie well enough to let her know of the issues when she is gone??
