Doing Club MoBay on Wednesday for the first time. Been to JA over 20+ times and I am done with the lines! Applied/received Global Entry for the US end of Customs/Immigration (using it for the first time this trip also) and figured why wait on that end if I don't have to. I'm like you NH, hope its worth the $50. I will let you know how it worked out for me in a few days.
ok thanks MM
Totally worth it if you don't like lines and have had a long travel day. I used it both on arrival and departure and found it perfect when traveling with a 3 year old. Very helpful and courteous staff, nice assortment of snacks and drinks to choose from. I have been to Jamaica 5 times now. First in '99 when there was no a/c or gangways from the plane. Just off the plane to the tarmac. This was a good trip. Got home yesterday. My son cried when we got home. Missed all his Jamaica friends.
I used their services and February and we are going to do the meet and greet again this may. Not only do I like the fact that you don't have to stand in any lines, but you have the lounge to use to freshen up, get a snack and a drink. We did not book the departure lounge because if you fly business or first class that is included-well at least it is with Caribbean Airlines.
We used both arrival and departures a couple weeks ago. Best money we'd spent. Several planes landed near the time we did...we zipped right through. 10 minutes from the plane to the lounge.
What days does anybody find long lines? We always come in on a Monday from 1130 to 1pm and there has never been a wait arriving. I would defintely use this departing after missing our flight once therefore we arrive with plenty of time to spare now.
It's a crapshoot. On time arrivals also have an impact. I have seen a massive line only twice and that was many trips ago. The last few times we have had little to no wait in both high and low season. And here I am still thinking about giving it a try. I HATE lines........
Guess it only takes getting stuck in a line once to make that choice........
Yeah...hate lines here too. Hubby hates them worse than I do, so for us, it was a great alternative. We arrived and left on a Friday. Too bad the Club MoBay can't fast track you through the check in process during departure, especially when AirTran was operating on a 2 hour delay. Ugh.
We have never had to wait too long in lines upon arrival, but we weren't too thrilled to have to wait 45 minutes for a well respected driver on the board.
Regards,
Bob
I'll arrive mid afternoon on Dec 31st, I think it's a Wed, but wondering if it'll be really busy because of New Years? Any experiences?
sounds like a great deal, gladwe made it to Negril in Feb. since its probably going to be an off year for us yext year, We are getting our house ready now to put on the market . Kind of scary since we have been in this home for 40 years. Plus side , south Florida will be a hell of allot closer and cheaper to get there and will be nice to get away from these awful winters in northern michigan lol
