1st time post from long time traveler,short time lurker now at CCLP

25+ trips to Negril..Now at CCLP 4th time this season.10 day stay...Just got into the message board about 30 days ago..Went back and read most of last 50 pages.Learned a lot and picked up on some excellent tips and new stops along the beach. Got in about noon on Friday-straight to Niahs while we waited for our room to be made up.Dinner first night at Jeanettes-(boardie recommendation). Had the coconut shrimp and Shelley had the snapper fillet...food was great and so was the pina colada.Had never stopped there before...Sat night was Sunset Beach for the 2 for 1 snapper filet. Great! Dennis the Mennis says Hello Boardies! Sunday fish on the beach from a little new stand- Rasta man named Culture..past Barbie Barn...Good food-very nice man.Back to Niahs for late lunch-he brought it over to Tony's Hut (another boardie recommendation we never before stopped at) and just had the CCLP free manager's party hor dourves for dinner... Lots of construction going on behind the big fence,but noise is actually not too bad.They are very considerate not to start early or go late.Our room is on the Sandy Haven side so no complaints.

Has rained every day a few hours, but not at all affecting our trip...Our passion in life is dog rescue so our daily routine is to walk the beach feeding the beach dogs (Always a long union break at Sun Beach Bar)-applying flea meds and giving de wormer- antibiotics on any sores...Half of one suitcase was dog food + supplies..36 pouches of pedigree wet -with paper bowls-they just love it..

Anxious to try some other boardie recommendations including Juicys and Aunty Thrills the other way on the beach.We always walk down to Cosmos once for lunch. We also appreciated hearing about Saint Anthony Soup Kitchen-Get kids to school program-Trip to Sav, Trip to Kingston...

We have stayed at Rio Club Negril,Our Pasttime,Charlea Inn,Sandy Haven,Merrils 11,Fun Holiday, Tee Water ,Rooms on the Beach,but we decided we really like CCLP the best...Great location on the beach-quiet-nice people-clean- no surprises. When I come by myself each January,my pick is Merrils 2... They don't hit you up bad for the single supplement and I consider it a very great value for the money-not the Ritz,but clean,good food AI,nice people

Tuesday...Rained about one hour late this afternoon...Dinner first time at Aunty Thrills because of Boardie recommendation...I had the coconut shrimp, Shelley had the garlic shrimp. Excellent food, Great People-Fair Prices...Will return

thumbs up to Jeanettes (right next door to Rondel).... Like the atmosphere, location, prices and the young lady who works there is excellent....

Another Janette's fan here. We were at Rondel in November when she had just opened and had a couple of meals. Just returned from another Rondel stay and had 3 dinners and a breakfast during a week stay. If you stop in, be sure to try her vegetables.

hope to get some feed back from someone...what to book Fun Holiday Beach for our stay my husband and I are in our mid 50's looking for a clean place, priced low. Haven't been to Negril for 4 years and missing it like crazy!!! we have stayed at Samsara 4 times and Tee Waters once. Please any help would be great. Going end of Nov 2014...

Thanks...Ended up saving one puppy that didn't look like she was going to make it. Got her to a rescue over in Ocho

The Animal House Jamaica and will get her to Chicago in a few weeks...Back home now Already thinking about our November trip....

Awww... That's awesome that you're helping the beach dogs. CCLP is one of my favorites too. Glad the construction noise isn't a big issue. Enjoy your trip. Looking forward to more of your TR!

Before we left Mrs. P. (my fiancée) said she'd be interested in a spaying/neutering effort (I was pretty sure she was referring to cats and dogs).

Has such an effort been launched in Negril?

Thank you, Yes they have had an approximate once a year volunteer spay nueter clinic where at least one vet has come in...We have not been in Negril when it has been going on (or perhaps didnt know about it),but I have seen past posts on this board with pictures and it looks like a great project...Hopefully,there will be another scheduled where we can help..My girlfriend Shelley is a vet tech and I'm sure she could be a good help. Hello Don & Shelley, If you get a chance to, you can check with Debbie Lighthart, she lives at Moonlight Villa which is next to Blue Cave Castle/Pee wee's. It is her dream to open a animal shelter in Negril. She tries to do a neuter/spay clinic once a month. I was fortunate to be able to participate earlier this year (Feb.) Sorry misspelled Shelley's name. (had it as Sherry oops)

In Negril, I think we've had a couple of spay/neuter clinics this year already....in conjunction with the Montego Bay Animal Haven.

Thank you for this information. I have seen Debbie's name on other posts and will keep this information.Will also find Moonlight Villa... We always stay and hang out on the beach side...Back in Nov CCLP for 10 days, skip Dec ,then Jan( Im by myself) Merrils 11 x10 days Feb Mar April May CCLP x10 days.
