Seastar Inn friend Shakey
Shakey has suffered an unfortunate fire that destroyed his home a couple of days ago and his Seastar family is accepting donations on his behalf to help him rebuild. They have a post on their Facebook page with contact info for monetary donations as well as other info, such as clothing size, etc. I know many of you have met Shakey, so wanted to post something to garner some support.

Big ups to Chris and Francine for continuing to look after Conrad.
This breaks my heart.

I wouldn't, it is a heartbreaking picture. If people really want to help out enough has been provided. U just simply need to call Seastar. It took no time to do it and they handled it very well.
Re: Seastar Inn friend Shakey
It truly is heartbreaking, but sometimes I think people only peruse the posts with pics attached. But true enough, it was so very easy to do and I really do trust the staff at the seastar to take the donation AND look after him. They have always been so good to him....sending a box of clothes and household goods to help out as well. Thanks for your input Booger.
Re: Seastar Inn friend Shakey
Thank you Hey_Mon for your input and creating attention to the situation. It's not necessarily travel related so I appreciate the Mods keeping it alive. Respect to those that have the means to help.
Was that a proper use of "respect"

Fist pump back at ya!!!! And Respect!!!! lol
Re: Seastar Inn friend Shakey
Agree with Booger. If you want to help, you can do it through Seastar securely, efficiently and quickly. The whole process took less than 5 minutes! Awesome! if you want to confirm who Shakey is, you can click on my post on the FB page. My profile is Shakey and I on the beach at Canoe. Maggie Jaye. A much happier photo to see - you can see what kind and loving soul our Shakey is! I don't think I have ever heard him called Shakespeare, though.

Thanks, HM! It was a lovely day! We took him for onion rings (he loves onion rings! Seriously! I think he ate at least 3 orders ... after a burger, too!). We had a great time. FYI - don't go anywhere with Shakey if you want a quiet time with him! William and Kate would not have more people stopping by to say hi! He knows EVERYONE!! Took us forever to walk through town with him, what with everyone stopping to say hi to him (and many, I am happy to say, stopping to make sure that the people he was with were OK! We passed, BTW! :) And if he doesn't like somebody, take heed - he can sense good and bad people in a heartbeat! One of my most poignant moments in Negril was with him. We were coming back from his first trip to help out at St. Anthony's. He was very quiet in the car going back, and very lost in thought. I was worried, and asked him if he was OK and had a good time. He looked at me and said very seriously "Me lucky. Me belly full." Yeah, baby. You got it!

Katho, I LOVE YOUR PICTURES! That is a great pic of both peeps.
Re: Seastar Inn friend Shakey
It is sad about Shakey's house. Unfortunate. A big thumbs up to Chris & the Seastar family for helping out. On our December trip to Seastar, Shakey and I hung out at the bar a few times, and he colored a nice picture for us. Plus, doing the dolla dolla dolla dance on the stage. Here's to Shakey...try to keep smiling. And to the other folks lending a helping hand or donating stuff and money, that's great!
