Where is the Anchovy road and why do I want to go there?
Hi Guys,
The thread about the inland route got me motivated to make this video.
Next time perhaps you'll want to call Linston and go to or from the airport using this route.
If you can't see the video here's a direct link:

Nice video, David.
We always referred to this as either the Montpelier or Ferris Cross road as it was at these two places that major roads branched off. I used the Montpelier turn to go through Newmarket on the way to Maggotty and Accompong Town. The Ferris Cross tee was to go either to Sav-Negril or Black River and the South Coast.
For many years, this road was under construction as they were putting in a main water line and the road reduced to one lane across the hills. If you got behind a big truck or bus in those days, a trip to MoBay would take hours. Now that the traffic has been going smoothly through those areas, this route is again a joy to drive.
Jamaica, for being a small island, has a whole lot of places to explore.
Peace and Guidance

I don't know if it's just me but I see a big box with nothing in it. No video.

Send Linston an email and he'll get back to you on a price. We did that trip with him last fall and it wasn't any more expensive than anyone else charges. We had a great time even though it rained so hard there was several inches of rain running down the road in places. We stopped at a fruit stand and drank a Stripe and sampled all the different fruit while we waited for the rain to let up. Bought several different types of fruit, super cheap. We'll be doing it again the end of this month. Well worth it, if you aren't in a hurry to get to your destination.

Back in the day when I had to go to the Estate from Town I always took the train. The company would have a jeep for me to use once I got there.
Always an interesting ride. Especially the stop at Porus.

Re: Where is the Anchovy road and why do I want to go there?
thanks for the great video , I think we were on part of that rd. 1 visit when we were going from Mandeville to Negril but not sure. At anyrate I think our next visit will do that route on the way to Negril from the airport being we always like to arrive early.
