This has been one of the main issues regarding the legalization of ganja here.
Last year, when we were discussing this issue with some politico friends in Kingston, being able to protect the small farming interests especially in Westmoreland from the larger commercial producers was a topic that was weighing heavily in the discussion. It will be interesting to see how this plays out...
Same thing happening here - now that medical marijuana is "legal" according to laws of man, guess who's buying up the dispensary and grow licenses? Our state representatives! We must keep politicians and corporations out of the ganja business and promote "boutique" grows. Herb don't need no license!
Just wait until Monsanto or DuPont gets involved. Think it's ugly now?Quote:

There is a very large pharmaceutical company in the UK that has been quietly filing patents on very particular cannabinoid ratio's, which brings up some very interesting ethical questions...Quote:
