5 Days & 5 Nites in Negril
Our little 5 nite adventure began on a Thursday morning. We loaded up our luggage and picked up our friends on the way to the airport. The four of us have been travelling to Negril for about 10 years so we all have alot of memories of trips past. This year we were also picking up a newbie who was hankering to experience Jamaica. We were also hoping we could get our newbie one of those FREE bracelets they give away on the beach in Negril.
Today our driver is Wayne, who is one of the drivers at Rocky's Taxi & Tours. We have known Wayne for several trips and its always good to see him.

We stopped at MegaMart to load up on supplies.

Our next stop is just past the Grand Palladium before we reach Lucea. You see, Wayne our driver happens to have a little bar on the waterfront just before you reach Lucea. It's called the Chill Spot Bar and if you happen to be looking for it just remember the color of it is bright orange. Its a great spot to stop for a break on the way to Negril.

Awesome photos!!! For some reason, I have always loved going through Lucea. May sound crazy to some with all the congestion, etc.....but it makes me begin to feel the authentic Jamaican vibe inside. If the traffic slows to a crawl, there are always so many things to take in. Kind of like stopping to smell the roses. Carry on...sorry, your pics brought me there inside. :)

Agreed - the pictures are awesome and I also love the drive through Lucea - especially on a Friday afternoon. It may be congested and slow, but it's so colourful and alive!
Looking forward to more of your pictures and report Justchuck. Mabye some pointers on how to do the HDR photos?

Re: 5 Days & 5 Nites in Negril
We got settled in our rooms and promptly gathered at the beachside bar. As is usual, our first day seems to be our big party day, and in our excitement of being there we certainly did party. I'm not sure I remember all the details of the evening but my bartab was a great reminder. The resort was great and pretty much as imagined. It was what I term as cutesy with many thoughtful little touchs throughout. The grounds were immaculate, the staff all very friendly, and everything worked as it should.
The added bonus this year was the quietness with no jetskis roaring and zipping on the water.
I also appreciate the nice comments on the pics. Its a hobby of mine so on a trip to Negril I get to indulge for a few days, something I don't always have time for at home.

Re: 5 Days & 5 Nites in Negril
It was Friday, our first full day in Negril. Normally in Negril I'm the first in our group that is up for the day. I like to grab a coffee and go exploring the beach. This morning I was feeling the pain from the nite before, it seemed like my eyes were letting in too much light. I finally got moving and joined the rest of the gang for breakfast. Breakfast was very good every morning and I can definitely vouch for the banana pancakes.

justchuck, great report and fab pics as usual.
Nice how your Jamaican server tightly rolled up your "napkin" and set it by your breakfast plate.

LOL, now thats great service!
Several times during our stay I would wonder over to Margaritaville for a little exploration and people watching. At times there would be quite a crowd as there were a number of groups visiting from Montego Bay.

Friday afternoon we caught a taxi and headed down to Times Square for a little shopping. Well, lets say the girls shopped and I headed to the Caribbean Bakery for a little gizzada fix.

Hi there... as so many have shared, your pics are absolutely beautiful. What type of camera are you shooting with? The reality is that Jamaica is so beautiful that it's hard to take a "bad" picture! But, yours are stunning! Thanks for sharing!

Re: 5 Days & 5 Nites in Negril
Ah! The first pic I've seen since we were there in February showing more behind the new pool. Is that a hot tub or a fountain just above the back of the pool? I thought maybe they'd put a bar there, there was just a temporary wall when we were there. Are any of the new cottages open yet?

Re: 5 Days & 5 Nites in Negril
This was the first time any of us had stayed at Country Country. I had wandered about the property before and walked by on the beach many times over the years. I had always thought the restaurant on the beach exuded an irie feeling. We had a number of great meals there and the ambiance was superb. I was surprised to learn the place went up in flames a week after our visit and was glad I had gotten a chance to photograph it.
