budget hotel on beach

I've stayed on cliffs last 20 years, but this time (Aug) I want to stay on the beach, at least for a few days. can anyone recommend a budget accommodation? across the road from beach would be fine with me. thanks

Define budget.... that time of year, lots of properties meet that standard, many of them ON the beach... check out the beach places here on Negril.com; lots of links if you don't already know. There's also a map laying around the web somewhere, last updated in '11, that shows all the places along the beach and the cliffs, as well as some across the road. We'll be staying in April at Negril Palms, and we selected that property as a means of stretching our budget, but also had heard that its a nice place with clean and comfy rooms.

Name your price ... Better guidance

White Sands is a great place on a budget. The staff are all wonderful people. The restaurant has good food. And it's centrally located on the beach.

I tend to agree with Gail. There is simple, no frills and sometime "rustic" can be really raw! Unless you want raw, which is fine, a price range would be easier to find what you want and need to be happy. Probably would be easier if you had a list of "must have" items you desire and a price range. There are so many options on the beach and the cliffs...one to suit everyone's needs. Good luck and have fun! Negril is a place that everyone can find their perfection.

You want a budget hotel on the beach go with Roots Bamboo. It is also located centrally on a great section of beach.

Palms has a sale for 48.00 a couple right now!

White Sands

I say White Sands as well, another great little gem is Moms Place. A small place, I believe they only have 8 room,
nothing fancy, no ac, but a graet bar and restaurant, and good people, located down the beach next to Bar b Barn
nice beach area, walking distance to lots of clubs.
