Cosmo's is good. Also Rockhouse and Pushcart.

Re: Best all around seafood place
If they are open by then, Sunset After Dark is really good!
-
Re: Best all around seafood place
All good suggestions. I find the quality is great everywhere and the differences are in location, presentation and service. For that, Ivan's would be my choice.

Been a while since I've been to Cosmos, and there was some talk of them being displaced by continued development... but they were located a couple doors north of Beaches.

Re: Best all around seafood place
Cosmo's is on the north end of long bay past all the AI's
-
Re: Best all around seafood place
Sounds like they are in easy walking distance of White Sands,we may give Cosmo's a shot.Hard to believe we haven't already eaten there after 12 trips, must be we never noticed them.

Re: Best all around seafood place
What do you really mean by seafood? Every restaurant in Negril serves local seafood? If you are thinking of anything other then local seafood caught that day, you may be missing out on some culinary delights only available in Negril or the way it is done and prepared locally!

Re: Best all around seafood place
Don't forget Swordfish, right across from MiYard. The best Lobster Mac n Cheese ever, and really good service,
and tables right on the water.

A few years back, there was talk of Sandals expanding Beaches to the north. If I recall correctly, the gift kiosks on the Cosmos property had been closed, and Cosmos may have curtailed its food service operation for a bit... but that may have been due to the season.
The Sandals expansion was put on hold, or abandoned all together, but Cosmos is certainly still in operation.

Well I ate there back in April.

Re: Best all around seafood place
In February, we ate at Chicken Lavish ,and I tried the curried conch. I don't know exactly what it was about this particular dish {1st time having curried conch}. It was so delicious....I actually think about how good it was every once and a while {isn't that weird?} . I went back into the kitchen and gushed to the cook how good it was, and gave him a tip {"stop hitting on the waitresses!!"} just kidding..... but yeah it was great. So, there I put in my 2cents about seafood. Will go back to Chicken Lavish for that dish in December! Oh, my wife had the fried chicken, and that was really good too! Bye, have a nice day! Irie everybody!

Re: Best all around seafood place
Billndonna - walked from white sands to cosmos for lunch many times. It's a decent walk, maybe 30 minutes, but a very nice walk. My favorite meal there is the grilled shrimp and of course the conch soup!

Re: Best all around seafood place
My favorite is the coconut shrimp at Canoe Bar! Our last visit to Cosmo's was not too good and that's always been one of our go to places. Not sure if we'll be going back. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but the food was marginal and the service quite unfriendly.

3 Dives had a great whole fish on our last reach. The lobster is fresh and tasty as well.

Re: Best all around seafood place
If you want a great location and ambiance, I agree with previous advice about Ivan's on the cliffs at Catch a Falling Star. If ambiance doesn't matter, there are plenty of Mom & Pop places with great seafood. Including Sharks (next to Aah Bees on the west end). Also 3 Dives and Eddies De Bar all located on the cliffs.

Re: Best all around seafood place
LTU for the fish stuffed with Callaloo and cheese and the Coconut Shrimp. Stuffed fish at Ivan's is also amazing. Fish and chips at Rainbow Arch or Alfred's. Curried Conch at Corner Bar. Jerk Lobster at 3 Dives.

Re: Best all around seafood place
Someone mentioned Swordfish, and I am trying to place it from the online pictures. Is this the one across from Chicken Lavish?
-
Re: Best all around seafood place
Yes. It across from chicken lavish.

Re: Best all around seafood place
Yum!!!! My stomach is growling now!

Re: Best all around seafood place
Thanks, jaherring. Found a discussion about it on Facebook. Now I'm hungry for lobster Mac and cheese.

Re: Best all around seafood place
I would also suggest Sunset After Dark huge portions, great quality of food!
Canoe was always my go too place, but I was very disappointed with this last visit. I had been dreaming of that slaw salad, none was to be had and we had rice as a side dish that was very under cooked and nothing else to really substitute this with. Ended up just getting a salad and was charged for way more than we were happy with. The Rum punch was still killer though!
My second recommendation would be Cosmo's and I believe they still offer free pick up.

Re: Best all around seafood place
I swear Patrick @ Sunset after Dark has the best Fish & Chips ! It is 2 big pieces of Snapper with a mess of chips . I always take 1 piece home. My wife is crazy for his lobster & shrimp dishes in a Brandy sauce too.

Re: Best all around seafood place
Cosmos conch soup can't be beat!
