Country Country or Treehouse
Hello everyone, over the years I have ready many, many posts and have enjoyed each and everyone of them for a different reason. I loved the "favorite foods" post...can I give a big up to Bigga's for the soup (that is our first stop before the hotel) and 3 Dives - the Lobster and the view - is there anything better?!?
We have been to Negril 3 times and stayed at an AI (not so good and could of been anywhere on the planet) and Catcha twice(LOVED IT!!!!) but this time we are trying the beach. The two that keep coming up are Country Country and Tree House. I like the breakfast included at Tree House and the pictures at CC are beautiful. Can anyone tell me similarities or pros/cons of each? Thank you!!!

Unless something has changed recently Country Country offers up a free breakfast as well. Just make sure you get there before 10:30 as that is the cut off time. IMHO Country Country is a step up from Treehouse. I also like the fact that CC's beach is less dense with more space per guests.

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
Do the Groupon special for the Treehouse thats out..Free transportation to and from the airport is included along with the breakfast..all for around 100$ a night..best deal around

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
Yeah, if you can get a groupon for the TH. Go for it. No opinion on CC though.

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
Hey Booger, Do you mean the rooms are a step up? I do like a nice room, we weirdly spend a lot of time in there :o .

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
The new groupon for TH doesn't say anything about transfers included, only paddle board lessons. I've been to Country Country 2x and loved it. Love that there's few guests for beach space. Great covered private balconies, gardens and restaurant (great breakfast included). Look at pics and videos on negrilonestop to compare.

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
They are both nice properties. The groupon leans the choice to Treehouse with the better breakfast and transfers but CC is "quainter" and quieter. They are both great choices.

I've heard good things about TH buffet breakfast, haven't had it, but CC breakfast is very good, made to order from the menu and includes coffee/tea and juice. Best banana pancakes on the beach. Can't imagine TH would be better, unless you eat a lot for breakfast, as I assume it's all you can eat. I'd say the two properties would be equal in the breakfast area, depending on preference. I looked back at the groupon and the transfer question was asked, the reply was that it is included. Surprised they missed highlighting that.

First time Pon Di Rock we stayed at Crunchy Crunchy(Heheheeee, Bnewb!). Absolutely loved it! Only issue we had was the late night noise from Margaritaville....but this is where we fell in love with Negril.....it's a beautiful property. We're staying at Treehouse for the first time in November....looking forward to it.....

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
i liked cc cottages, but the serve staff does not like to "serve" . . . i'd skip any deal at cc . . .
none of my concerns were addressed by management . . .

Our experience was quite different. Had no problems at all with the staff. That said, we prefer Nirvana due to the direct beachfront setting and full kitchen with cook service. Also prefer the location there further down the beach, along with Idle Awhile, Coco, Charela.
Given a choice between TH and CC though, I'd take CC, the beach at TH just seems too small and crowded for my tastes.

It was hit and miss for me on both stays. Opal who worked the bar was a sweetheart both times and provided great service. A lady named Afrika was a different story. I also wasn't a big fan of Monique the GM who charged my card for the entire stay for two rooms when I was just putting a deposit down. Getting a refund was not as easy as it should have been. Besides that, most people who work their are good peeps who engage you and generally seem to enjoy their job.
Now Nirvana is a step above. Outstanding service from EVERYONE. Will stay at Nirvana without doubt in the future and will probably still give Country Country another shot. I really like their stand along cottages as well as that area of the beach.

"afrika" is a ringleader of bad service . . . when she is on shift, the food would stay at the window until i went to get it . . . monique was a piece of work . . . would not go back there if it was free . . .

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
I am a Country Country lover. We have always stayed in the upper rooms nearer the beach. Interestingly I have found that the noise from Treehouse, music from boom boxes, crying children, is more of a disturbance than that from Margaritaville. We generally don't use the a/c so our windows are open and the bathroom windows face TH, not to mention the noise that can be heard while on the porches.
-
Re: Country Country or Treehouse
Stayed at TH last year never had any issues with noise whatsoever, except maybe from our neighbour who fell asleep one night with TV turned on at max. Overall an excellent stay, clean room, friendly staff, security visible, breakfast buffet basically kept you going till supper except for the mandatory patties and fruit on the beach. Having a concerned owner on site is also a plus in my books.

Country Country is like a diamond on the sand, the staffs there are very friendly, the food is great, country country all the way:):)

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
Good morning and thank you for all of the responses!!! I am going with TreeHouse, the pictures are wonderful and transfers included. What really sold me was the generosity of Gail and her willingness to help an employee with treatment for an illness (mentioned in a previous post) - what a wonderful woman. I can't wait to visit, come quick July!

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
I've stayed at both properties, and yes, I think that Gail makes the difference. Country Country has really nice cottages, and the breakfast is great. We heard the noise from Margaritaville, but music doesnt not offend me, its part of the ambiance. I fear that the changes that they've made recentlly will make the property very crowded.
At Treehouse, rooms are nice and clean, and I think they have been upgraded since we last stayed there. The breakfast is wonderful, and a great way to start the day. Great food and great view from the upstairs dining room. Staff was very friendly, and having Gail on site keeps everything running smoothly. I cant say enough about Gail, being a smart business person, coming up with innovative ways to bring in business. And as we see here in this forum, she is always trying to help her community.
I'm not sure why people say that the beach is small when in actuality, its very large. I'm sure its larger than Country Country.
Treehouse gets my vote.

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
jesswade - Treehouse got my vote as well - Gail's generosity and compassion in helping with chemo treatments was the kicker for me - I have not met her and have not stayed at Treehouse before, but I am so looking forward to meeting her and my stay there next winter - I know it will be awesome.

Re: Country Country or Treehouse
Repeat customer at Treehouse. I'd recommend it quite highly.
