Love 3 Dives...Eddie's De Bar on the cliffs is awesome as well!
De Bar is our favorite
Eddie De Bar, 3 Dives, and Trevor I make sure to eat at all 3.
Another for 3 dives.....and their granny sauce is untouchable
Yep tree dives, great food all around and don't here much about it but ozzies on the beach road is always real tender and good sauce as well!
Agree with all of the places mentioned but don't forget to try different preparations other that jerk. Curried chicken and brown stewed chicken are both great! Mix it up a bit and of course there are some places that make some great fried chicken! Try the fried chicken smother in sweet and sour sauce. OMG, might clog a few arteries but just how often are you going to be able to eat that at home!! Better yet, share a portion with a friend. :) I'm salivating just thinking about some curried chicken with rice and gunga pea and a big portion of callaloo. Perfection!!
Hey Yetta,
Fried chicken smothered in sweet & sour sauce sounds wonderful...where do you get that? I'm with you and like to try something different every time we go.
The fried chicken and sweet & sour chicken are both excellent at Chicken Lavish. I haven't tried the jerk chicken there but friends said it was a little on the hot side.
Thanks Justchuck, we've never tried Chicken Lavish, we will next reach! :)
Same Trevor that used to be at 3 Dives?? where is he now?
Not a big a fan of curry, but love me some fried.
Other than Chicken lavish, where else do I get me some good fried???
Shark's has good fried chicken.
So many places have great fried chicken. In addition to those already mentioned :
Choices - Cliffs
Jucy J's - Behind Scotia Bank
Fatties - Beach Road
etc.
Choices is no longer....
Either 3 Dives or Eddie's for great jerk chicken. Go to 3 Dives for sunset, and Eddie's for a chill, late-night vibe.
If you just want to pick up some quick barrel jerk on the road, check out Tony's chicken stand right next to No Limit Bar. He usually throws in some sides like rice, callaloo and breadfruit.
Alos, Connie cooks up a mean fried chicken at C&D/Jenny's
Didn't check to see or visit DeBar last reach but heard the landlord of Trevor's place took it back. Heard he's back at DeBar. Anybody have that answer? This was in July. Previously in May he and his wife were at the restaurant working hard on fixing up the place.
If its West End road then you need to try out Chicken Lavish - They are an Institution out there. I know we ate there on the very 1st trip to Negril in 1978 and it has maintained the standard for Fried & Sweet & Sour Chicken ever since ! I recall a pretty amazing Conch soup too!
DeBar, 3 Dives and Tony's are all good as already suggested.
i will secong the fried chicken and the sweet and sour chicken at chicken lavish...had it for the first time last reach and i plan on doing it again next week....and anything at Connies country western bar....
if i am not mistake, 3 dives, de bar and trevors place are run by the brothers, whcih all started at 3 dives...so yes, same trevor from de bar
where exactly is trevors??
I'm not sure if Trevors is still around. I was there May 2014 and he was having trouble getting people to come. If he still has the place it is located near Canoe Bar. It's located on Alaska Lane. One street north of Canoe when heading north. About 500 feet from the main road on the left side.
Chicken Lavish has a good one...Choices, which is no longer...is where I first tried it. Perfection! However, many places will smother it in sweet and sour upon request. That's how Jamaica rolls!! LOL Juliet, at Sharks...will hook you up too. Just ask her, whatever you want, she will provide. Don't be afraid to ask, you will truly be amazed at how many cooks will be thrilled to please you. Plus, compliments will surely be given which is heaven for a chef!! Enjoy!!!
Trevor was back at Debar when we were there in August.
Nobody comes close to De-Bus...
Debus is only a memory of long ago! :)
Nobody comes close to De-Bus...
How have I not heard of this place? Where is it? ....
It used to be on the Beach ... beside Bourbon Beach ..
.long time gone
I really liked Chicken Lavish when we were there a couple of reaches ago.

Eddie's Debar with Trevor on the grill is like no other!
Two decades ago, De Buss was my first experience with authentic fresh jerk chicken.
So fresh that the coop was 10 feet from the grill!
