Trip report getting my groove on..spanksgiving week 2014

Been very busy at work, end of open enrollment of Medicare, and now open enrollment for obamacare...anyone need assistance, I can help....lol. So this trip almost didn't happen and this report may not be as detailed or whatever...we will see as it goes...planned this trip with our great friends from Toronto, who we met a couple trips ago....but I knew it was gonna be a maybe up to the last minute...
Well, got to work and took care of most of my clients early enough that I had it worked out...well, then Janet had the unforeseen problem...they did not let her off the Friday aft thanksgiving, so she had to come back 3 days early because of 1 day...luckily, they let her off, telling her two days before we left...

So off we go...up until about 2am packing and just excited the night before, alarm goes off at 430, I sleep til 5...get to ATL airport, sitting at terminal, and bill of Bill N Donna from the board, came up and introduced himself...recognized us from the board...so glad he did that...

Boarding delayed on plane for about 20 minutes for lavatory problems...lots of arrivals at Mobay, but moved along quickly...Godwin waiting as usual...love my driver....between Godwin and Shane, my transportation was covered...lots of traffic heading out of Mobay...more than I have personally seen...Godwin has our needs covered for the trip to negril, beer and juice on ice, etc..

It is raining very hard...we get to green island, about 20 minutes from home, and decide to stop at sky bar, same stop as last trip..to get the trip started...great place to stretch the legs, and the rain died down as we were there....Tamara is the bartender, very sweet lady..Godwin ordered takeout conch for himself and his lady, Who is also a friend of ours....

So off we go, headed to Kuyaba to check in...because it is getting late, we decide to check in at Drifters, because Friday is drifters party, to see if rob and Lisa were there....they were, so I dropped Janet off at drifters and continued on to kuyaba to check in...drifters was packed.

I needed beer, juice, wata, ice, subs, credit for my phone he lets me use...etc so I gave Godwin a list of things while I check
In...all this takes about 45 minutes...I walk the beach to drifters...Janet is having the time of here life, as usual...drifters is by far her favorite place....i think mine is yellow bird, I just like to be on the water...but drifters is the place to be on Friday for sure....lots of fun and buckets of beer...lol...the long day has had its effect on Janet and she is feeling no pain and loving every minute of it...non stop smile...no pics from today, but you will see as the report goes on...

She is in need of something to eat, so we want to try the Chinese food at kennys..didn't get to try it last trip...rob and Lisa decide to join us....they drive Janet but I prefer to walk the beach, so I do...heck, I got there about the same time as they'd did...about 15 minute walk....after errors, we went back to kuyaba...we had the honeymoon suite for one night...it has a HUGE veranda...early 1st night, chillaxing, listening to reggae music from the porch, while Janet got her rest for the next day...

ok back for an installment....not much to report on day 2 either....a few pics of teh room and veranda of teh honeymoon suite at Kuyaba...we made reservations at Legends earlier, but came a day earlier..since kuyaba is next door, we did one day here...

I know that we are not typical tourists anymore....days without pics...not as many landscape pics, beach, sun, sea, or my personal favorites, sunsets....mostly of the people and the partys now....

we meet up with some friends that we met a couple of trips ago...

we see susan and white bob from negril onestop vacations...we catch a ride down to bourbon beach with them...white bob is performing a few songs tonight at boourbon beach.....

sunday morning brings a new day....beach day early, some live reggae music with gary cooper,,, right on the beach at fiwi bar...then meet up with our friends at drifters...roy and sheri have become great friends...we planned this trip together and are staying at legends together...

after a late night last night, we closed down bourbon beach, i am feeling it today...so a few subs and 4 dirty bananas for breakfast and i am back...lol

anyways, I get some lobster delivered to mefrom patrick, the beach lobster guy... pretty tasty....

This little girl was named Lexi...I was swimmin in the pool when she joined me...she was my buddy for the next 2 hours...she lives here on the island, not negril...she and her mom are from britain, but live here now...her moms sister is visiting and staying at legends, so lexi is using their beach and pool for the day....she liked her pic taken...she also got a kick at the itailian guy who walked the beach in his thong..."oooo he has lady panties on...hehehe"

being roy and sheri's 1st day, it always gets the best of someone...gotta find food...so we go up to Connies country western pub for her famous bacon mac and cheese...well worth the trip....

Love the Honeymoon at Kuyaba, stayed there a couple times ourselves.

Today is Monday..11/24/14...another lazy day on the beach for early morning...below is a video of beach musicians entertaining the crowd in front of legends..

we decide to head up to red ground which is the monday thing to do, i guess....so we start off on what turns out to be an all day, all night legendary, epic self guided pub crawl....

i fill my bubba keg with my own rum punch, (appleton rum, coconut rum and guava/pineapple juice...) and everyone else grabs a beer at legends..

off to yellowbird for dirty bananas as we make our plans...it is roy and sheri first day, so they are ready to make something happen...lol...

we walk to the road, grab a taxi and head to red ground...we get dropped off at collettes bar....

we discovered collette's bar on our trip in april...she is so sweet....we run across our friends, billndonna, here at collttes.....we share a few laughs with each other, a few COLD beers, just a great place to hang out..Collette was having guests later and brought some chicken out for us to sample...uuummm, so moist and good...

we walk from collettes up to the red dragon bar....some call it raggabones....more cold beer...billndonna go in another direction, they had just left red dragon...we might run across them again this week....red dragon also is known for the jerk pork, but we decide that we want something else for lunch, so just beer and social at red dragon...a group of 8 or so are in ther, and they are a familiar group...they were here in april when we were here...they come for 6 months...

gordo is bartending, the beer is cold, Janet and Roy got t shirts....

It is time for a late lunch....steve positive, the driver, is at red dragon, so we get him to take us to Ahhbee's for burgers and brownies....when we get there, we run into carolyn, Rick and carloyns kids....negril really is a small town, lol...somehow it was declared fireball time...i just noticed something...someone different has the fireball in each picture...lol...

Ahhbee's has a great burger...huge...janet ordered the mini burger and it was plenty...

we walk from ahhbee's and head to seastar inn....there is no one at seastar...i just dont think i could entertain myself enuff...i know, i know...chris runs a great ship, u feel like family...etc...gotta have water or the beach or something....just my opinion..like visiting, but home is where the water is...lol

seastar does have great service, happy hour, and make a couple of great frozen drinks, including the purple rain that i had....

we had planned on sunset at LTU, but it was already dark...we walked up there anyway, just cause...lol....saw carl ricketts, talked for awhile...patrick, one of the night drivers i would call, other than shane.....shane is the best...was at ltu, so we had him drive us back to legends...

we took a few minutes to regroup, had a drink or two and then off again...roy was looking for his friend bird, who owned negril sun...it had moved and we were told it was by travelors...so we went in that direction...one for the coozie and down the beach we walk...we stop at errols for the next stop...tat no longer bartending there...we inquire about bird and we are told that he is across the street....so after a bit, we head across the street...and there he is...his bar was beside roots bamboo, but there is now a fence there and all the shops relocated...check oout negril sun, located across the street from travelors, beside fattys....he just moved his entire building...so we had several beers at this stop as roy caught up with his old friend...

we took no pics from these 4 stops...

so for those keeping count, (me) my boy roy had at least two red stripes (one there and one for the road, and in most cases mulitple beers at the place), at each of these stops...Janet and Sheri also had at least one...troopers, i tell ya....Legends, yellow bird, collettes, red dragon, ahhbees, sea star, ltu, legends, errols, negril sun....we end the night first at roots bamboo for live music, then bourbon beach, then nightcap at montanas....

we get to roots bamboo at about 9, and who do we meet there...billndonna of course....and i am s glad..gary cooper is playing at roots tonight...we spend the night singing to the songs we know and just dancing and grooving in the sand to the ones we don't hehehe....here are the pics

we leave roots bamboo and walk down the beach to bourbon beach to hear more music....when we get to bourbon beach, we take our seats at the bar...we paty for awhile and then billndonna go missing...lol...hopefully we see them again later in the week...

we head back to the room after the music is over...we decide to go to montanas in search of some food...tony montana had invited janet and roy for late night dining yesterday, so we went...guess what, too late for food tonight, but the beers are cold...lol...so this ends the night...

the next day is tuesday....after the long night, it is a lazy morning, which turns out to be typical morning for us this trip....I get up 1st and go out and grab a lounger and watch 7 mile beach come to life...roy and sheri walk to breakfast somewhere, usually cafe goa...janet gets to the lounger and settles in...my boredom sets in and off to yellowbird for dirty bananas...lol...some days i make a longer walk, some days just walk around close....

today flipadelphia is coming in...a day earlier than planned due to the bad weather hitting the US...we also have a couple other friends coming in today..they are staying at xtabi, so we plan to join them there...we actually go early to get some swimming and jumping in...

after partying at about 12-15 spots yesterday, we do it chill style today....billndonna went to hedo for a day pass....we only do two propertys today, ( went to yellowbird by myself) Legends, our home base for the week, and Xtabi.....i took a cooler and two 6 packs of red stripe, which they have no problem with because we but several frm the bar.....in tonights case, more than several.....but for those who dont know, this is a great palce to watch sunset, have dinner, drinks, hang out and sun tan during the day....and they dont mind u using the property if u buy a drink or few...lol

3 dives is next door...our musician friend, gary cooper, is playing there tonight...the great thing about xtabi is that u can hear the band from their....it is a perfect setup...tues is web cast day, so we go over to say hello...flip also said he was gonna be there later...we get there and it is a pretty big crowd to be so early...no rob and lisa, no web cast...we find out later they were oout of town...anyway, we see flip and they join us for the party at xtabi....
