Gluten free foods
I just had a private message from Seastar on Facebook. I was told that Mega Mart in MoBay has a variety of gluten free products. Have any of my fellow boardies seen anything? My daughter and granddaughter can't have anything with gluten. If we could find bread and cereal that would really be great. We could stop there before heading for Negril.
Thanks for any info. :)

Re: Gluten free foods
Seastar is correct. You can find an assortment gluten-free items at Mega-Mart. Once in Negril, Sav (Shopper's Fair) would be the next best selection on gluten-free products.

Thanks, Rob! That's great news.

Possibly Quality Traders, along the wall they have specialty items.

Re: Gluten free foods
I've been eating GF in Negril for years. I just skip the bread. Plenty of fruits, vegetables, meat and fish. I just skip the bread and (sigh) beer.

Lola, where is Quality Traders?

Re: Gluten free foods
Quality traders is what I call the Green Store it's right before the driveway going into sunshine Plaza which is where the Hi-Lo is located.

Re: Gluten free foods
I don't recall which thread, or if on this site, but I recently saw a post about an entire gluten-free section at Mega Mart.

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate it.

Re: Gluten free foods
Bammy if I am not mistaken is GF since it is made with cassava flour and not wheat flour.

Re: Gluten free foods
From what I saw posted in the past Mega Mart has a section of Red Mill gluten free products, which may include packages of hot cereals, flour, and other baking item. The link below is about Mega Mart and there is a picture of the gluten free section, though it's hard to tell exactly what they carry.

I don't think you'll find any gluten free bread in Negril. I am bringing my own bread, hot cereal mix and wraps, but will stop at Mega Mart to confirm what they have. You can get Glutino crackers, Rice Chex, and rice crackers in the bigger stores in Negril. Hope that helps.
