November Roll Call?

I saw a Thanksgiving roll call but I couldn’t find one for the month of November so I figured I’d start one.:cool:

We’ll be taking our second trip to Negril on Nov 2nd thru Nov 8th - Me, Markus and our bestfriend, Jamar (He's a newbie - This will be his first trip to Jamaica!)

We're splitting up our stay between two hotels again. This time we’re trying half beach/half cliffs. Only 48 days to go! Can't wait!:D

We’re hoping to meet some boardies during our trip! (We'll see you on the One Love Shuttle, bella bea!)

Who else will be in Negril in November?

Wayne/FOJ, Blandy1, Negrilaholic, a214trip, Homegirl, Carol-Ann, Christine – We'll be there at the same time so we'll see you guys on the beach! :D We're going to try to get to as many webcasts as we can through out the week, we'll definitely be at the Seastar on Sat. and hopefully get to our hotel in time to hop on the wednesday shuttle when we first arrive!.

Marley – That's so cool that you're in SF! How long will you be in town? Message me if you're in the downtown area, we can meet up for a coffee.... or a red stripe:)

Negrilbay – I''ll certainly be posting a trip report, maybe I can even convince our friend to set up an account and share some of his impressions from his first trip to Negril. I know he's going to love Jamaica! – NB, Sam I am, Lenny, Ti2m - Have a fun November trip!

I'll be there Oct 2 - Nov 15ish. Staying most of the time at the Somali Jungle http://www.facebook.com/pages/Somali...81702268509056 I'll be exploring much of the South Coast and some of the interior while still making my once or twice a week excursions to the West End.

Clarity, I plan on checking out the Seastar Sat night parties myself prolly every week, so hope to see you there, as well as any other boardies I happen to meet too! :)

We will be there November 8 through the 16th, so we will miss you. Read your trip report with great interest and reminded me of our first time to Ja 15 years ago. The wonderment of it all still puts a smile on my face. Have a great time again.

Sweetness - I Can’t believe we’re both going in November and we’re going to miss each other by few days! I’m bummed! SO close!! Markus and I really want to meet you too! I’m so happy you’re going to be able to enjoy Negril in November though and stay for such a long stretch. I know it’s been a difficult year for you, so I hope you find a lot of peace and solace in Jamaica. We’re wishing you all the best, you deserve it!

And you’re right, there will be more trips. If all goes well (fingers crossed) We’ll be back in Negril at the end of April to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Unfortunately That will be our final trip… Not our LAST trip forever, but there will be an intermission for about 5 years or so.

Irie Always - Congrats on booking last minute tickets! Sounds like you got a great deal too through WestJet! That’s awesome! We’ll see you at Seastar on Saturday night!

Jack & Donna – You’ll be flying in as we’re flying out. I wish we could extend our trip. A lot of people are coming in a few days after we leave. Hope you have a great time in Negril too! (You mentioned your first time in JA was 15 years ago. How many times have you visited since then?)

Riddumking, Markospoon, NOlAnmr – have fun in Negril in November! Beach Bum – The Somali Jungle looks beautiful. Have a great time!

Southcoast Girl –I hear you!! We’re down to 33 days too! So excited!! I’ve already pulled the suitcases out of our closet and put our snorkel gear into it! haha! Where are you staying?

We did run into a problem. I had my heart set on Catcha Falling Star for the second half of our trip and now the Gatehouse cottage (and all of the other affordable 1 BR cottages) are entirely booked up! There is only the Star and Moon. (way out of our price range) I’m so disappointed. I was hoping that if I waited, I would get a good last minute special…

…but I’ve waited too long and now we can’t stay there at all. :(

We have to find another cliff side hotel option… Maybe Xtabi or Banana Shout…Bluecave castle..Seastar… ?
decisions decisions… I’m sure we’ll figure it all out in the end.:)

My two cents on your choices......have always loved the look of Banana Shout so think that would be a good choice. I totally think you guys would love West End seaside. Did you try to negotiate Sun/Moon at Catcha? - they may be willing to offer a special (ask for Andrea and tell her you are a boardie). Also I loved Tensing Pen but it is pretty expensive if you are on a tight budget.
Have you looked at Tingalaya? super natural and special vibe. It looks amazing.
Also Mirage (awesome views, infinity pool, sea access). Also Moonlight Villas (Debbie) is a great property.
They all have websites to check.

Thank you so much Sweetness for the advice and suggestions! We just booked a saturday night stay at Seastar inn for the grand re-opening! We're really excited!

We also wrote to Andrea at Catcha falling star to see if she had any 1br available for just those last 2 days of our trip (fingers crossed).

If not, I'm leaning towards Banana Shout. Tingalaya looks beautiful too. Tensing Pen looks amazing, but you're right it IS out of our budget range. Mirage and Moonlight Villas look great as well. There are so many places to choose from on the cliffs. It's mind-boggling. I would really like to experience being right on the cliffs with a view of the ocean for a part of our stay. I'm sure the sunsets are amazing! We'll be in Negril in one month.. so I should probably figure this out soon:)
